GREENOUGH – Larry W., 69, of Chelsea, Queens County, passed away peacefully December 26th, 2022 in the care of the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, losing his battle with kidney disease.
Born in Liverpool, Larry was the son of Burton and Arlene (Wamboldt) Greenough of Bridgewater, NS
Larry spent over 30 years working at Michelin in Bridgewater Nova Scotia until his retirement, always providing a great life for his family. Larry’s retirement was spent with his wife by his side spending time always together living life to its fullest enjoying weekends at the cottage, time with their daughters and granddaughters. He was an incredible family man, a teacher, a husband, a father, a grandfather. He was an outdoorsman, a tinkerer, a collector and a character. He is a man impossible to forget and one to always be remembered. We are reminded of the poem The Dash by Linda Ellis, and that is Larry to a tee. He would not want to be remembered by the start and the end rather the dash in between.
Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Laura (Coops), daughters Heidi (Eddie) Robar of Edmonton and Karen Greenough (Jared MacKenzie) of Dartmouth; granddaughters Abigail, Olivia and Grace Robar.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Larry wished to not have a service, instead the family will all come together to lay him to rest in Milton Nova Scotia later this summer. No flowers by request, donations may to the Kidney Foundation. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.

Dear Laura and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Larry’s passing. You must be heart-broken. After being married to someone for 50 years, you have not just lost Larry, but also a piece of your heart. I understand how that feels, and want you to know that my love and prayers are with you.
Treasure all of the good memories, Laura, and hold them close. As time goes on, it will become more natural to talk about those times with your family and share a good laugh once again.
Until then, just know that Larry touched many people’s lives and has left behind him a legacy of love. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, so just take your time. You will find that some days are better than others and that’s okay.
Allow others to help you when they offer to, and remember that Larry would want you to take care of yourself. That bond of love will always be there, regardless of what your future holds.
Please accept my sincere condolences and know that I am thinking of you, at this time.
Lynn xoxo

Dear Laura,
We were saddened to hear of Larry’s passing this week. Philip and I have not seen you two for a long time, but we have really good memories of you both from so long ago.
Larry was far too young to go, but we are glad that you two have spent such quality time together through these many years. We are thinking of you now as you say goodbye. But we know your soulmate will be with you now, and in the days ahead and that the beautiful memories you and your family share will give you peace as you all go forward.
Please accept our deepest condolences.

Laura and Family,
Sincere condolence. You and Larry were a great team always supporting each other. We enjoyed and remember times spent canoeing, trout fishing, motorcycle jaunts, many games of wampoo, pool, looking for tobacco tins, and watching kids grow up. You were Larry’s strength and a care giver for many years and did an excellent job. So sorry we have not kept in touch better the last couple years. Please let us know if we can help you in any way. Please call or come by when you would like some company. We both feel lucky to have spent time with Larry and will remember him as a good friend.
