Condolence from Lianne GIffin on January 18th, 2013 6:50 am

She had a twinkle in her eye and love in her heart. She was a keeper of secrets and a trusted ally. She was the strongest lady I’ve known and yet the softest, too. Any moment with Nan was a bubble of fun, adventure, goofyness and love. She was more than a grandparent, she was my first best friend. She’s not just in our hearts, she’s everywhere. Drive down Gottigen, she’ll be there. See a uniformed sailor, she’ll be there. See an African violet bloom, she’ll be there. Hear Conway Twitty on the radio, she’ll be there. My love for you is undescribable, Nanny Marge. Love you more, Lianne

To Marjorie’s Family: I am so sorry to hear of Marjorie’s passing. In the years I lived in Sable River, Marge and I were the best of friends. Our children and husbands were friends too, and we spent many hours all together at the beach, on picnics, at our camp, and just hanging out together. I treasured her friendship — I was an outsider and she made me feel welcome. We shared so much laughter, great conversations, good times and bad. They were the best years of my life. Marjorie has often been in my thoughts, and always in my heart. I share your grief.

My grandmother and my best friend. I was fortunate that I lived close to her and got to see her almost every day. We were each others shadow and partners in crime. If mom said ‘”no” I just asked grandma.

If I picked up the phone and asked her to go for a trip to the South Shore she’d be at the house to pick me up in minutes and off we would go. Many weekends I spent with her traveling. We’d make our famous stops to the Blarney Stone on the way up and the way back. I’m going to miss those trips.

So many times I’d just go visit her on a whim and she’d make sure I had something to eat and we just hung out and we’d watch crazy television shows.

She was loving, understanding and big spirited with everyone. She was a grandmother that every grandchild would want.

I learned a lot from her – good habits and bad habits. She was there for almost every important part of my life and I will always be thankful for that.

I love you Nanny Marge. I miss you!

Love Jamie & Tasha

Linda My Dear Friend having recently lost my own Mother I have chosen to send you this poem and to assure you I am in prayer with you during Sunday worship this day.

Only One Mother
You can only have one mother
Patient kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you.
When other friends forsake you,
To mother you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our dear mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her,
And give her all our love.
