Uncle Charlie was one of a kind. It’s nice to read through everyone’s memories of him. As I have said, Uncle Charlie was a kind loving man, and everyone’s memories of him will always bring smiles to our faces and give us a good laugh. He loved life and proved that each and every day. He would do anything for anyone. Any of my friends that met him always referred to him as ‘the little man in rubber boots’. He leaves behind a very large family, and I am sure each one of us has a special memory of him. I have a few, and will keep them close by and never forget his handsome smile.
Janice MacKinley
Our condolences to all of Charlie’s family and friends.

I have many wonderful memories of Uncle Charlie. One special memory is how he called me “Carrott Top”; he made me feel loved every time he said it. Mom felt the same way when he called her “his Little Bunch of Sour Grapes”. We were blessed to have him in our life. xo
Valereie Whynot
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Charlie always had a way to make me smile. My late husband (Peter Gordon Whynot) thought the world of Charlie and their trips to Cape Breton will be talked about for many years to come.
Cherish all the memories and know people care when your heart is hurting. xox

My heart is broken and feels your pain of loosing such a wonderful man. Charlie has always been a Dad to me, as you Eva was a Mom. Wendy has been my sister/best friends for most of our life. Ricky and Charles aways looked out for Wendy and I, especially as teenager. You whole family has been my family. So, today I share in your greaving and offer my deepest condolances to you all. I know Charlie is still looking down on us, and his favorite saying evrytime he saw me was” now you behave yourself”. yes Charlie I am behaving myself and can still have fun with it. I will miss you forever and you will always me in my heart. till we meet again.
Queens Ground Search and Rescue
On behalf of the members of QGSAR I extend our sincere expression of sympathy to the family, relatives and friends
of Charlie. He was a very valuable volunteer and a founding
father of the team. If we needed something “to fix something”
Charlie would say…”just a minute. I think I saw one of those up home” and away he would go. Sometimes sooner would turn
out to be later because if he didn’t have it, he hunted around until
he found someone who did have it and would convince them to “donate” whatever it was to the GSAR team. We will miss him dearly. Rest in peace Charlie.
Dave Miller,
President
