Condolence from Maureen Crocker on November 8th, 2021 7:52 pm

Our family first met Janet when she worked at White Point many years ago. We liked her so very much because of her bubbly personality and her wonderful sense of humor, and also the almost constant smile on her face. She was always warm and friendly to us and we always looked forward to chatting with her. When they sank the boat, The Matthew Atlantic in the bay she invited our family to come along on their boat. We were thrilled to be included in that interesting experience. When it was time for us to head back home it was our tradition to bring the large bag of coins we had amassed over the summer to the boat house where she would say, ” I was wondering when you would be coming”, and with her help and lots of laughter we would count it all out and spend as much of it as possible there. I would run into her around town every so often and it was a pleasure to “catch up” with her. I will miss those opportunities to see her, and I cannot imagine the sadness her family is feeling now. When I think of her it will forever be with her happy smile and that laugh. I’m so very, very sorry for your great loss, she was a wonderful person and many people will miss her dearly. I know I will for sure.

Ulf and I hi were shocked to hear of Janet’s sudden passing. She was such a dynamo-always eager to lend a hand and share her many talents With whoever she could assist. We first met Janet at the hockey rink where we practically lived with our boys. She was the epitome of a great hockey Mum, driving, baking, cheering and fundraising for the team. ( Many in Queens County are very aware of Janet’s prowess at fundraising!) Hockey seasons end marked the beginning of soccer where Janet and Greg provided unconditional support to all involved. I don’t remember them ever missing a game. Janet was so proud of Mike and Michelle and her enjoyment of her grandchildren was beautiful to see. Greg, Mike,Michelle, her extended family and legion of friends-please accept our deepest condolences. Your community shares your grief. We will all miss Janet’s spirit and optimism. RIP my friend.
