George Stewart Gardner

Gardner – George Stewart, age 78, of Queens Manor, Liverpool, formerly of Brooklyn, Queens County, passed away on Monday, April 10th, 2023, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

Born in Sandy Cove, Queens County, he was a son of the late Sydney and Ruth “Allison” (Oickle) Gardner.

George spent a lot of time with his best friend and wife, Audrey, who he affectionately referred to as “Sib” or “Bibby”. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as off shore fishing, raising and caring for livestock and farm animals, gardening, wood working, cabinet making and hunting. George liked to party with his family and friends, but he was also a quiet man who enjoyed his time alone. George made an impact on many lives, none more so than his children and grandchildren. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

George is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Audrey (Roache); daughter, Wanda (Rodney Legge) of White Point; sons, Robert (Tammy Wile) of Truro, Mike (Carol) of Voglers Cove, George Jr. (Kelly Berringer) of Milton; grandchildren, Amanda, Tiffany, Shane, Sheena, Cassandra, Evan, Nicole, C.J., Thomas, Cody and Eric; several great grandchildren; sister, Heather (Blake) Lowe of Brooklyn; brothers, Ronald (Katherine) of New Germany, Frank (Peggy) of Brooklyn.

He was predeceased by a sister, Brenda; brothers, Douglas, David and Richard.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 15th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., from Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Reverend Cherry Workman officiating, followed by a reception.
