Sorry we lost our last surviving member of Howard and Edith’s family. The memories he left for us to cherish are unique and very precious. He was an amazing man and was the central figure of many stories, many that will bring smiles to those of us left behind for many years to come. Thanks Uncle Basil for leaving us so much. Love and hugs to each of you cousins.

The very best wishes to Basil’s family & friends . He is the man that talked me into going back to Toronto in 1964 with him. We worked together for years , hunted , fished , traveled ,, hopefully we shall meet up again in the happy hunting ground ..

My sincere condolences. There were many & I mean many conversations in our house of Uncle Basil from skinning wire with a knife to jumping in a cold lake on a fishing trip. David certainly love him. When Basil would come “home ” there was always a visit on our veranda with the two sharing stories with a drink of rye & ginger.
I can only hope they have met up again.

Like others I have so many great memories of Uncle Basil’s visits to Nova Scotia and also a few visits we made to Toronto. We all appreciated his enjoyment of life and great sense of fun. Mom would always have seafood when he visited and I remember that he loved her lobster chowder. Sincere sympathy from my husband Brian and myself to cousins Linda, Steve, Howard, and Carol and their families and to all who miss him. Sandra (one of Annie & Chester’s daughters)

We didn’t get to see Uncle Basil often but when we did it was fun to watch how he and mom (Margaret) would cut up and poke fun at each other. He had the best smile and could be very mischievous. He even showed up on our doorstop without warning when we had moved to Germany. Mom was so happy to see him. In later years my work allowed me to bring mom (Margaret) to see him in Toronto- quick visits but memorable. I know he will be missed by many.

It’s been a great many years since I’ve seen any of you, but I was saddened to hear of the loss of your dad. He had a good innings though and it was certainly a life well lived. Hope you’re all well (Linda, I’d love to hear from you if you get a chance)
