Condolence from Clark Perry on September 10th, 2011 1:19 pm

I would like to offer condolences to the family of Walter W Freeman on his death. Walter was the Canadian Oil Company Salesman for western Nova Scotia and living in Yarmouth when I met him. Although our relationship was purely busijness, Walter went out of his way to ease the difficulty I faced as a young fuel oil auditor facing the outside world for the first time. I will always have a warm feeling for an individual who was willing to welcome the new generation as an asset rather than an adversary. My sincerest sympathy. Clark Perry.

Condolence from David Bell on September 10th, 2011 6:57 pm

To the Freeman Family:
Please accept my condolences for Walter’s passing. He was an important part of our family’s Greenfield life. From rescuing boats in a hurricaine to serving salmon at the annual planked salmon supper. (Always gave my mom (and all other women) a nice “piece of tail” 🙂 )
My first paid job was with Walter, helping him remove shingles from the family homestead. i remember that life transition to this day.
Please accept our sincere condolences and our thoughts are with you at this time

Condolence from Charalyn Kkriz on September 23rd, 2011 7:41 pm

Greenfield will be a less joyful place without Uncle Walter. I will remember him for the clam digs he took us on at Lawrencetown Beach, for the Dutch mess and lobster chowder among other goodies that he used to prepare and of course for his comments while serving the planked salmon!! Years ago he was quite skilled on the saucer on the lake. Resurfacing after a bad fall, toupee askew, he laughed and said that he had “flipped his wig”. That was typical, always making jokes. I am so glad that I got to see him this past May, and to sing in the choir with him, where I told him how good it was to hear his beautiful voice. I noticed that he had slowed down in the past year, but I never expected this. I will miss him….

Sincere condolences to Shirley, Anna, Jocelyn and the extended family.

Charalyn Kriz
