Condolence from Bill Sarty on April 3rd, 2015 8:04 am

I first met Clayton when I was dating Kip, we were sitting in Kips yard in my truck and he came down to make sure everything was safe for the night. Later years I would learn of his amazing talent to remember the history of his family and the community around him. The one thing that really sticks out for me was Clayton’s respect for the property of others. He would always say I seen the owner Bill and he said he didn’t have a problem with me sitting here. The latest was when I stopped the bus to talk to him on the Church steps in Port Mouton. RIP my friend.

We were sadden to hear of Clayton’s passing. When I was a child I remember him visiting his good friend John Ellis who lived across from us. My sister and I would be at John’s house from time to time when Clayton would stop by for a little visit. Clayton would sometimes take his harmonica out of his pocket and play a tune or two. That was almost magical to us. He was always so nice to us kids. Clayton will be missed by his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
