Vance and the Merry Family,
I am tearfully writing this message of condolence. I had such a soft spot for Sharon and our friendship goes back a long way. She was the one who always felt responsible for cheering other people up, but when she was having a bad day, it would be over in a minute if we mentioned one word–“Vance”. She was an eternally proud mom. Although she has left us too soon, we will all have wonderful memories of Sharon.

Memories live on-long after a loving heart has stopped beating. Hold your memories close-call upon them-when you need them most. They may bring a smile to your face when you least expect it. Through Sharon’s kindness, her smile,or her sense of humor. I have read many kind words from those who remember her fondly. Take comfort in that as you lay her to rest. Sharon was a very special person. In loving memory of my cousin Sharon.

I did not know Sharon, but went to high school with Vance. Please accept my condolences at this very difficult time. I found this poem recently when my uncle passed and found it comforting. I hope it does the same for you as well.
The Final Flight
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I’ve found that peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life’s been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’ touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

Although I did not know Sharon very well, { she was just a young child when I left to live in Montreal,} I did have the pleasure of having a few conversations with her when I went to visit my Mother at the Nursing Home. As well, our Grandmothers were sisters.
May she be at peace, even though she was far too young . . . .
