Tedinframe

Foster – Edward (Ted) Allan, Brooklyn, NS died peacefully on May 16, 2018, bringing to an end his incredible journey of 93 years.
Born May 13, 1925, the son of Edward and Alice (Redford) Foster.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Joyce (Kaiser), their 6 children Janice (Keith) Foster, Saskatoon, Allan (Bertha) Foster, Milton, Ken (Debbie) Foster, Ortonville, Mi, Darryl (Heather) Foster, Saskatoon, Greig (Darlene) Foster, Saskatoon, Gail (Bev) Davison, Brooklyn, 11 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister Frances Moreton and his adopted brother Wendell Tidmarsh.
Ted joined the air force at a young age before working at Bowater Mersey Paper Company in Purchasing and Stores where he retired as Purchasing Manager in 1986.
Ted was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He was also actively involved with various sports such as ball, hockey and bowling. He was a member of the Atlantic Divers taking many pictures of laying underground cables and searching for “treasure” at Oak Island. He was member of the Liverpool Barbershop Quartet and loved music. In his retirement years he was an active member of the Queens County ATV Association and pursued interests in gardening and woodworking.
Ted was a devoted husband, loving father and well-respected member of the community. His family cherishes the memories of his involvement with teaching Air Cadets, coaching their many sports teams, hunting and fishing trips and outings to Long Cove and Coffins Island. He loved seeing his family enjoying life. It is with heavy hearts that we say good-bye but you will always be fondly remembered in our hearts.

To the Foster family. So sorry to hear of Ted’s passing. As a young boy growing up in Brooklyn I remember him very well. Whether it was at the ball field or at the annual garden party Ted was always having a great time. I fondly remember Ted at the hot dog stand yelling ” GET YOUR RED HOT HOTDOGS”. I’m sure his friends & team mates will meet him at the Pearly Gates with a freshly poured drink. Our deepest sympathy to all. Rod & Ann

To the Foster family we offer our condolences on the passing of Ted. Was someone who could always place a smile on your face.Everytime it thunders I will think of him bowling. It is not what you have done that you are remembered for but how you have done it. And Ted did it with a smile and love, What we have lost heaven has gained. Bless you all

To Joyce and the whole Foster Family. Someone earlier spoke accurately when they mentioned there can only be one Ted Foster. He made wonderful memories in his lifetime for his Family and the whole community, Hang on to these memories and to each other- they will help you with your loss. Both Terry and I consider ourselves very lucky to have experienced Ted Foster! Our condolences to you all.

One of my very favourite people, whether in his position as Purchasing Manager at Bowater, leaning on me with a big smile to stop me from getting to the puck in the Mersey hockey league, leading the Christmas train at the pub or sharing a laugh and a strike at the bowling alley. Everyone, especially vertically challenged people like me looked up to Ted. He will be missed by all.

Condolences to Ted’s family and many friends.

Ted was our navigation instructor in air cadets and we all loved to be in his classes. He was such an inspiration. I’d even say that we worshiped him. Actually I said something like this to him when he was alive and want to say it now publicly so that everyone will know how grateful we are for his life.
