
FORD – Allen J., 70, of Maitland Bridge, Annapolis County, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023 in QE II Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, NS.
Born in Caledonia, Allen was a son of the late Oscar and Gertrude (Winters) Ford.
Allen worked for Bowater Mersey Paper Company Limited as a heavy equipment operator as well as at the Oakhill Sawmill. He was a member of the North Queens Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved the outdoors; being in the woods. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Allen is survived by his wife Sandra (Robar), his sons Adam and Andrew and his grandchildren Braiden and Brooklyn. His sisters Doreen Gordon (David Cummings) and Pansy Ford, both of Alviston, ON and Elizabeth (John) McMurray of Maitland Bridge. His brothers Roderick and Glenwood (Diane), both of Maitland Bridge.
Besides his parents, Allen was predeceased by his sister Madeline Ellison and his brothers Robert and Roger.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A gathering to celebrate Allen’s life will be held in the Maitland Bridge Community Hall at a later date.
