Jean Evangelyne Fiander

Fiander; Jean Evangelyne, age 85, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Friday, December, 17th,  2021, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Percey and Gladys (Crookes) Young.

Jean was employed for many years as a C.N.A. at Queens General Hospital.   She was an active member of Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool where she served on the A.C.W. and the Altar Guild. Jean was very passionate about music spending many years in the choir as well as the choir director and played many years in the Mersey Band.  She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a great cook and baker. She was a former member of the Liverpool Golf and Country Club and a charter member of the Liverpool Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her loving husband, of  67 years, James “Jim”; daughter, Lynn (Paul) LePine, of Edmonton, Alberta; son, Richard (Lois), of Liverpool; five grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; special friend, Teed MacDiarmid and her beloved feline, Rosie.

Jean was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn Condon.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, December, 19th, 2021, in Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Monday, December, 20th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., from Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool. Reverend Cherry Workman and Reverend Judy Cross officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Liverpool, at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Trinity Anglican Church Altar Guild or to the Trinity Anglican Church Choir. Live streaming of Jean’s service will be available at service time. Those attending Jean’s service are asked to provide proof of vaccination and identification, provide funeral staff with Covid 19 tracing information and wear a mask at all times while in the funeral home. Hand sanitizing and social distancing is encouraged whenever possible.
