We are saddened to learn of Marie’s passing. Marie ‘s contribution to the outstanding musical prominence of Liverpool and the South Shore was huge. She accompanied hundreds of vocalists and choirs in music festivals and was herself an extremely capable performing pianist. She was also a great friend and mentor.

Condolence from Murray Kirkpatrick on March 19th, 2017 8:33 am

Charlie I’m so sorry to hear Marie has died. I have fond memories of fixing her dinner when she accompanied kids prepping for the Music Festivals. We’d take a break and she’d be back hard at it. She supported so many children over the years. She was truly amazing. My thoughts are with you.

Condolence from Terry & Stephanie Hurrell on March 20th, 2017 2:36 pm

Charlie and Family:

With fond memories. When we came to Liverpool in 1968, Marie had been the music teacher in the Town Schools for many years. She had done such terrific work with the children and it was pleasure to take over this role. My tasks were made so easy because the students loved their music. Marie continued to be involved in the musical community over the years: Music Festivals, Winds of Change, Kiwanis Concerts, partnering Maddie Keay on two pianos, accompanying the children and adults, always with that kindly smile and exceptional talent. Thank you, Marie, for sharing your music; thank you, Charlie, Pete & Mike, for looking after her so well in later life.

Terry & Stephanie Hurrell.

We heard of Marie’s passing and we are very sad. She was a beautiful music teacher, and
I enjoyed working with her and learning all the songs that she taught my class in Mill Village.
Randy enjoyed her inspirational music lessons in elementary school.
She was very friendly and nurturing to all she met.
She will be greatly missed.

Condolence from Linda Williams on March 30th, 2017 9:09 pm

I am saddened to hear of Mrs . Mouzars passing .I had her for my music teacher at Port Mouton School . She had a lovely
voice and I remember being inspired to sing because of her warm, sincere smile and gentle ,calm demeanor. Even outside
of school she always called you by name when she met you making you feel special. When I use to see her around town, long after Port Mouton school, I always marvelled at how she looked the same and would tell my children that she was my
music teacher in elementary school and that I felt she was surely drinking from the fountain of youth. So sorry for your loss
of such a gifted lady. Prayers to all at this difficult time .Linda Williams
