Also survived by sister Donna (Cameron) Hartling, Lower Sackville; three nieces Melanie Waye, Lindsay Cusack, Courtney Emenau , special nephew Adam ( Angela ) Hartling who kept in contact while we were in Toronto and many visits since returning home. Liz is survived by many cousins from both sides of the family. Special mention to cousin in law Michael Lowe of Kanata for his positive energy and great support for the last six years. In addition she is survived by three brothers in law and their wives; Reid and Patti; Jeffrey and Bonnie; and Kevin and Debra. Also special mention to Brad Meisner for his friendship over the years.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home , Liverpool. Very sad and surprised to read this. We were childhood friends, schoolmates, fellow CGITers, and nearly neighbours. We knew her as Betty Anne then, and as adults occasionally forgot she preferred Elizabeth and Liz. I remember her being so excited to tell me that she was seeing, then marrying, Neil after so many years. She was such a cheerful, enthusiastic gal … my deepest condolences for you, Neil and Donna.

So many memories remain of Ralph, Catherine and their girls that extended for decades and intersected our community and church lives. We loved them all dearly and mourned each loss. Dear Neil, Donna and extended ‘family’,
I was so terribly sorry to read that Liz has passed away! Like many others who are sending condolences, I got to know Liz (as well as both of you, and other ‘extended family’ members) either through Zion United Church or Music Festivals, and then again during our High-School years and Variety concerts, and it seems so surreal to be reading the obituaries of old friends, but here we are.
Liz (I called her Betty Anne, as well, when we were young) was always such a warm and friendly person and I can’t think of Liz without also thinking of you, Donna. I always wished for a sister and you two had such a close relationship with each other that it was a joy to be around the both of you.
And Neil, I remember you and your brothers very well, although our ages were staggered out a bit. Reid was the same age as me, if my memory serves me correctly. I didn’t know that you and Liz had ended up marrying each other many years later, but it sounds like a fairy-tale come true for both of you. Treasure those years that you had with one another.
It won’t be easy for any of you, to lose such a dear, loved one, but with God’s help and the love and prayers of your friends, you will get through this, and be able to look back and take joy in all of the good memories of times spent together.
God be with each and every one of you.
