Dunn – Gary Wayne, 72, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Friday, August 30, 2019.

Born in Milton, Queens County, Gary was a son of the late Mervyn and Dorothy (Freeman) Dunn.

Gary was employed with the Department of National Defense, spending most of his time as a driver. He drove many dignitaries from all over the world throughout his years of service. Gary had a great love for music, especially old time rock and roll. He was a very accomplished guitar player and entertainer who enjoyed performing with a number of different bands over the years. Gary was most recently a member of the Queens County country band, “Harvest Moon”. Above all else, he was most passionate about his family and spending time with them. Gary had a great sense of humour and a warm, loving heart.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Mary MacRae and their daughter Jamie Dunn, at home; daughters, Frances Dunn (Stephen Shea), Katherine Dunn (Todd Tobin), Elizabeth Dunn, and their mother, Janet Dunn, all of Halifax; grandchildren, Anna Dunn-Suen, Ella Tobin, Rhys Tobin and Jeevan Sehgal; sisters, Carol (Wayne) Smith, of Central Port Mouton, Donna (Dale) Peverill, of Milton, Patricia (Kevin), of Liverpool.

Gary was predeceased by a brother, James.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., from Zion United Church, Liverpool. Reverend Carol Smith officiating. Reception to follow.
