E.R. Clarke Delong

DeLONG –  E.R. Clarke,  70, of Beach Meadows, Queens County passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 with his wife by his side.

Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Allister and Jean (Zwicker) DeLong.

Clarke was a former Department of Transportation employee working as a winter dispatcher and a grader operator. He also drove tractor trailer for a number of transport companies and travelled across Canada and throughout the US. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a founding member of the South Shore Bass Masters.  He enjoyed repairing small engines, cooking, barbeque, and loved his Tim Horton’s coffee. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him especially by his border collie Shylo.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Belinda (Wentzell); brothers Dwight (Margaret) of Upper Rawdon, Terrance (Sheila DeLong) and Garnet (Bonnie), both of Albany New. Nephews Bradley Delong, Shawn Delong, Michael (Sasha) Delong, niece Jennifer (James) Freeman and great nieces Karlee and Laci Freeman. Step great niece Amelia Smith and step great nephew  Isaiah Smith.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. There will be no funeral service. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Queens County S.P.C.A.. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
