
Cushing – Thomas “Tommy” Franklyn, 82, of Harmony Mills, Queens County, passed away on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Liverpool, Queens County, Tommy was a son of the late Charles and Joan (Connor) Cushing.
Tommy was very active in his community lending his support anyway he could. He was a member of the North Queens Fire Department for over 60 years, holding many positions throughout the years including Chief. Tommy served as a director and supporter of the Queens County Exhibition for many years and was a Mason at Mechanics Lodge #78 and a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, A. L. Patterson Branch #87, Caledonia.. Tom retired from the North Queens Community School as a custodian. He also worked in maintenance at Kejimkujik National Park, the Caledonia Sawmill and the Mersey Barns in his younger years. Tommy’s biggest passion was farming and his beloved horses.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen; daughters, Christine (Robert) McLean of North Brookfield, Darlene (Phillip) Mulle of Bonnyville, Alberta, Charlene Mailman of North Brookfield, Liz (Scott) Hawkes of Harmony Mills; grandchildren, Franklyn, Benson, Rhonda, Krista, Billy, T.J., Craig, Samantha, Sarah and Matthew; great grandchildren, Rochelle, Isabelle, Gibson, Isacc and Alex.
He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Carver; brother, Charles and his special grandfather, Frank Cushing.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m from the North Queens Fire Hall, Caledonia, followed by a reception. Reverend Carol Smith officiating.
