Crowley; Earl Francis April 28, 1937 – May 24, 2012
It is with much sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of Earl Francis Crowley, announce the death of our father, grandfather and brother on May 24, 2012 at the Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Our dad passed away peacefully with family at his side at the age of 75 years.
Born in Port Medway, Queens County, Earl was one of six children born to the late Hilda and David Crowley.
Earl grew up in Port Medway where he continued to live and make his home in the Crowley homestead working at a young age with his mother and father on the family farm. He was a truck driver in his younger years, but spent most of his life working at sea as a fisherman, and in his later years retiring to spend much loved time on his woodlands and at his hunting camp.
Dad enjoyed deer hunting, going for drives, visiting with friends and family, “yarning” with his buddies at the wharf and loved both hearing and telling a good joke. He had a keen interest in woodlands and was very knowledgeable in the area of Port Medway history.
He loved to tell stories of his time spent at sea and the many friendships he made over the years.
Earl truly loved his family greatly and will be sadly missed and forever loved. His memory will be cherished and forever treasured his four children and our families.
Along with his parents, Earl was predeceased by his loving wife, our wonderful mother, Ruth Elizabeth Crowley on March 25, 2005, sister Alice (Dennie) Whynot, brother Douglas (Katie) Crowley and his loyal and much loved little buddy “Sam”.
He is survived by his three sons; Gordon (Lillian) Crowley of Liverpool; Eric (Kelley Inglis) of Port Medway; and Bill of Vancouver, BC, his only daughter Susan (Peter) Truelove of Brooklyn; grandchildren Tina Crowley of Liverpool; Johnny Crowley (Nada McGlynn) of Halifax; Josh Truelove (Lindsay Rumbolt) of Bridgewater; and Rhylee Truelove of Brooklyn; foster son Colin MacNeil of Sackville, New Brunswick; brother Ernie Crowley of Port Medway; sisters Mildred Dolliver of Middlewood and Ethel (Ivan) Parnell of Scarborough, Ontario; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Interment at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Port Medway. Donations in Earl’s memory, if so desired, may be made to Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com

I am so sorry to hear about Earl’s passing but hopefully he is where he can hunt and “yarn” with the rest of the boys that have gone on ahead of him. Murray and him fished together for quite a few years and he drove truck with my Dad so I have known Earl for a number of years and have always enjoyed talking and joking with him. It is so nice to have good memories of those we love. Take care everyone and know that I am thinking of you all during this sad time.
