Croft – Jennie Louise, 87, of Riversdale, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home, on Thursday, October 13, 2022 with her loving family by her side.
Born in Mill Village, Jennie was the daughter of the late Orville and Annie Louise (Anthony) Smith.
Jennie lived her life by keeping busy and enjoying people! She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as writing in her journal, going for drives, camp parties, playing radio bingo, watching her soap operas on television and watching her beloved humming birds. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends, especially her best friend, Mary Hartlen and also going to Edna & Bob’s for supper. Jennie was a creative person who enjoyed baking, knitting and crocheting. Above all, Jennie loved her family and was happiest when her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren visited or called for a chat. She would do everything and anything for her family. She is loved and will be deeply missed.
Jennie is survived by her daughters, Dale (Eugene) Hynick of Voglers Cove, Sylvia Anthony of Riversdale, Darlene Anthony of Riversdale, Nancy (Phil) Hatt of Brooklyn, Barbara Langille of Riversdale; sons, Jerry (Karen) of Mill Village, Greg (Mary) of Amherst, and Jamie (Dawn) of Charleston; grandchildren, Nadine, Kendall, Nicole, Megan, Jeremy, Victoria, Brittany, Tyler, Ryan and Logan; great grandchildren, Chantel, Taylor and Max.
Besides her parents, Jennie was predeceased by her loving husband, James “Jim”; son-in-Laws, Allen, Calvin and brother, Kenneth.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside service will be held from New Charleston Community Cemetery, Charleston, November 19th at 11:00 a.m. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
