Cole; Marguerite Elizabeth ( Freeman ) – With great sadness, the family of Marguerite Elizabeth ( Freeman ) Cole of Milton announces her passing on November 6, 2016.
Born April 19, 1941 in Mersey Point, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Dorothy ( Hartlen ) Freeman.
Marguerite lived a very happy, spiritual life and felt very blessed. Along with her siblings, she started her spiritual life at a young age with Sunday school and loved being in God’s house. Throughout her life she taught Sunday school, sang in many choirs, was church organist, an auxiliary member, belonged to the Quilting club and decorated the church for every occasion. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant for DVA Hospital in Halifax in 1960 and worked at Lancaster DVA Hospital for several years. She was married June 9, 1962 to the love of her life Richard Hilton Cole.
Marguerite had a passion for genealogy and loved researching and creating volumes of family histories. She loved her little piece of paradise she created down the river and spent many peaceful afternoons there in the sun working to make it just perfect. She also loved her little yellow convertible and each year looked forward to the weather being warm enough for them to take it out for a drive to the beach or to the Transcotia for dinner with her many friends. She also had a great talent for quilting, creating beautiful quilts of all sizes and colors
Marguerite is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard Cole and by her son Bradford (Odea) Cole, her sisters Jeanette Lewis, Carol Wigglesworth ( Mike Turner ), Shirley Freeman, Helen (Tim) McGee and brother Eddie Freeman. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

It is so hard to believe that Marguerite is no longer with us. She was a joy to have as our church organist and we have missed her so very much. God certainly blessed us when she became part of our church family on the North Brookfield Baptist Pastorate. Always had a smile for each one of us in the choir and her smile would touch my heart in a special way. Always remember your good times with her and remember that God is walking with you during these difficult days. He never gives us more than we can take and my prayers and thoughts are with you all during these difficult days. Dick remember where we are and you are most welcome at any time.

We would like extend condolences to Marguerite’s husband Dick and all of her family. We did not know Marguerite well but we remember her fondly from meeting her at my dad’s (Freebert) funeral in May. She followed me around until she finally got my attention and proceeded to drag me to meet the rest of her family who were with her. She was a very outgoing and talkative person and I wish I would have had more time to talk to her about the Freeman family. She will be missed.
