Sheila, Murray, Angie and family –
I am so sorry to hear about the tragic loss of Kirk. He was a couple of grades ahead of me during the school years, so I never knew him all that well.. but he was always very kind and friendly to others, and I will remember that kindness fondly. Please know that our thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time.

I am so sorry to have heard of Kirk’s passing. The obituary mentioned his intelligence, athleticism and humour however I cannot think of him without thinking of how loyal and open he was. We saw each other very infrequently however he never missed an opportunity to stop to talk to me. He always wanted to know what I was doing, if or where I was coaching or to reminisce about his days with the soccer “maniacs” from Brooklyn. We had a few run ins through soccer and hockey however he never ever left me feeling as if he resented any decision I made, even when he disagreed. Regardless of what he did, that grin of his made it difficult to stay mad for too long. He really taught me a great deal.
Michael Thorbourne

Sheila, it is with great sadness upon hearing of Kirk’s passing. When I talked with him on Thursday, we had a great chat about his career as a nurse and about his work at Bowaters. He spoke very fondly of you. I know he was worried about his dad and his neighbor. He seems to be a very passioned guy. It had been a while since I had talked to him, so it was nice to catch up on his career. He was a nice kind, careing person who will be greatly missed. Take care.

To Kirk’s Family,
I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Kirk in 2000 and over the years we became good friends. He was the sweetest, kindest and thoughtful person. Always knew how to put a smile on your face and make you laugh until your belly would ache. Over the years, no matter how much time would pass, out of the blue I’d get a message or a phone call that would last for hours. When we ran into each other it would be like no time had passed at all. I will miss him dearly.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
