Burgess; Glenn V., age 63 of Hunts Point, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Liverpool, Glenn was a son of the late Gerald and Fallie (Fisher) Burgess.
Glenn grew up in Southwest Port Mouton. Upon completing his Red Seal as a machinist, Glenn began his career at Bowater Mersey, where he also earned his 2nd Class Power Engineering Certificate. Glenn built many lifelong friendships over his 33 years there. After the closure of the mill Glenn began a second career combining his love of driving and children as a school bus driver for SSRCE. Glenn’s smile and good humour will be remembered by all that came into contact with him. Glenn will be fondly remembered for always being present and supportive of his boys in all their endeavors over the years. Glenn took pride in all aspects of his role as ‘Grampy’ to Caillum and Ainsley. He enjoyed watching them play sports, and sharing in his love of music and camping.
He is survived by his loving wife, Amy (MacDonald); sons, Adam (Denise), Jerry (Candace) and Andrew (Alisha); brother, Reg (Glenda); sister, June (Ron) Smith and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Glenn was predeceased by his sister Gail, and an infant brother Donald.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S. At Glenn’s request there will be no funeral service. No flowers by request, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.chandlersfuneral.com
