
BOYLE – Mary Mildred “Millie”, 87, of Caledonia, Queens County, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Devonshire, Queens County, Millie was a daughter of the late James and Hilda (Ennis) Boyle.
Following high school, Millie received her business training from Mount Saint Vincent University. She spent her working career in Halifax in administrative positions at the Nova Scotia Power Commission, National Research Council and the Technical University of Nova Scotia from where she retired in 1986. She returned to live in Caledonia in 1988.
Millie is survived by her niece Loretta (Larry) Holdright of Dartmouth, her nephew Jim Boyle of Caledonia, her great nephews Matthew and Mark Holdright and Lucas and Kyle Boyle.
She was predeceased by her sisters Evelyn and Pauline and her brother Paul.
Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2017 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. in St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, West Caledonia followed by a funeral mass in St. Jerome’s at 11:00 a.m. Father Charles Offor officiating. Burial will be in St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, West Caledonia. Family flowers only, donations may be made to St. Jerome’s Catholic Church or to the North Queens Fire Association. I was shocked to hear of Millie’s passing. I was just talking to her a little while ago. I so enjoyed playing bridge with her and catching up when ever I saw her out and about. Such a lovely, classy lady. We had many good times. She will be missed.
