Bowers, Carolyn Lillith, age 64, of South West Port Mouton, Queens County, passed away on Saturday, November 9th, 2019, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Carol Williams.
Carolyn was a caring woman with a great sense of humor and was affectionately known as the “Queen” by her family. She had many interests, some of which were reading her chicken soup books and Daily Breads, Sudoku’s, crosswords, lexicons, camping, hunting, crafting, scrap booking, making cards and she had baking and cooking down to a science. Carolyn also enjoyed playing bingo with her sister Peggy and the Port Medway Gang. She was well known for her ability to make headstone saddles and for her talent for taking pictures. Carolyn worked for many years at C.W. MacLeod’s Fish Plant. She was a member of the Port Mouton United Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Above all else, she was most passionate about her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Duncan; daughter, Linda (Stephen) Williams, of South West Port Mouton; son, Duncan Jr. (Tracy), of Port Mouton; grandchildren, Preston, Savanna, Josh, Brayden and Lilly; sisters, Peggy Williams, of South West Port Mouton, Rhonda Barnes, of Clarks Harbor, Rosanna (D.J.) Dorey, of Liverpool; brother, Manus (Pam), of Yarmouth; half sister, Wilma Huphman, of Liverpool; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Lewis and a brother Miles.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12th, 2019, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., and a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., all from Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Reverend Perley Tidd officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Hill Cemetery, Port Mouton. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to Long Lake Camp or to the Queens General Hospital Foundation. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.chandlersfuneral.com
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Ernest, Dr. Thorne, Dr. MacDonald and the staff of Queens General Hospital for giving Carolyn four extra years to enjoy her friends and family and for making her final days more comfortable.

I remember so many things about you. Baking pies, cookies, egg rolls. But you didn’t make a few, you made them by the dozens.
You always had a camera around your neck to take pictures. You have photo albums galore. You never missed a house or a building being tore down or something being built. You are the only one that I know that could show all of us what has happened in our community and beyond.
You were always so proud when you shot your deer before your husband did or who had the biggest kill.
Having the big chev truck and a milk crate to get in…didn’t matter… you made the best of things as long as you were beside your partner in crime.
The parties you hosted… you never missed a family celebration.
As we grow older, families seem to have their own lives and their own commitments, but you never forget memories as great as these.
Glad I got to see you one more time before heaven opened the gate for you. May you Rest In Peace. See you on the other side.
Sincerely,
Kristy

Carolyn was such a great family person. She used to play cards with us and my mom was so excited to know Duncan was bringing her up to play cards. Carolyn knew Mom liked crows and she just gave me a beautiful arrangement to put on mom’s grave with two crows and even a slice of bread-she was very talented! Her family meant everything to her and you can see the love that Duncan and her had for each other. She will be missed. Bertha and Allan Foster
