Beyer; Carsten Jorg, age 60, of Port Medway, formerly of, Edmonton, Alberta, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in Port Medway.
Born in Dannenberg, Germany, Carsten was a son of Erika (Schulz) Beyer of Germany and the late Juergen Beyer.
Carsten was a life long brick layer, starting at the age of 16 working with his Uncle Wilfred Beyer. After retiring in 2021, Carsten and Dana moved to Port Medway where they quickly immersed themselves in the community making many new friends. Carsten was always available to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a member of the Port Medway Fire Department and the local coffee club. Cartsen was a jack of all trades and a master of many, there was nothing he could not fix and he did not know the meaning of the word “can’t”. He enjoyed working around the house on remodeling and landscaping projects. He couldn’t sit still; he had to be doing something all the time. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and had a passion for fishing. He was so loved and will be greatly missed.
Carsten is survived by his loving wife, Dana; sons, Terrance of Edmonton, Alberta and Justin (Cadziana) of Lac la Biche County, Alberta; many grandchildren; brothers, Ralf (Chris) of Melbourne, Australia, Ben of Edmonton, Alberta.
Besides his father, Carsten was predeceased by a brother, Torsten.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. An informal celebration of life will be held at Port Medway Fire Hall Wednesday, March 22nd at 6:30 p.m. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Port Medway Fire Department. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com

Grief is not about forgetting, but about remembering. It’s the remembering that gives you the strength to keep going. As you grieve the loss of Carsten, please know that all of us are mourning along with you and that you are in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers. Some people bring a light so bright to the world that even after they are gone, their light lives on. Carsten was one of those people. Every time I look at the great job he did on our shelves at the hall I will think of him. Rest easy Carsten, much love Dana.

Du bist gegangen mein lieber Carsten, doch wir konnten deinen 60.. Geburtstag gemeinsam in deinem Haus feiern. Das Angeln mit dir, die Ausflüge mit deiner lieben Frau Dana und die Abende am Lagerfeuer werde ich nie vergessen.
Ruhe in Frieden mein lieber Carsten, in meinen Herzen lebst du weiter.

Dana and family – so sorry to hear about the death of Carsten. I knew him for a long time here in Edmonton. He was the president of the Triple E Pool League for a few years. I had a lot of laughs and good times with Carsten on league nights and the many tournaments we participated in. I remember his competiveness but above all his great sense of humour. I never left his presence without a smile on my face.

I always told myself that there would be a day where we would let go of our stubbornness and meet in the middle. Now that you are gone I see how easy it would have been, and now that your not here I am angry with myself for not doing my part. I do love you Dad, I love you very much and I should have told you that more. I have always admired you for your strength and perseverance with your bricklaying. No matter the circumstance you were always the first man on the jobsight and last one to leave. I wish we had more time and if you can hear me Dad please know I love you and will miss you. Thank you for taking care of mom for all these years. REST IN PEACE DAD. Mwah!
