I have known Beryl for a very long time and I loved her dearly, we shared a passion for writing and poetry and we always had lots to chat about when I visited. She had so many stories to share with me about her youth and her teaching, lots of laughter with her. She visited the drug store where I used to work quite often and she never left without a chocolate treat from me, she was truly an earth angel and will be missed immensely. She has touched many lives with her kind words and beautiful soul,I will cherish the memories I had with her now and always. May God take her home and give her rest, my deepest sympathies to you all. Saddened to read the news of Beryl’s passing. I got to know Beryl through her visits to the bookmobile in Caledonia. It was always a treat to look up and see her. From when she drove herself and later on good friends bringing her by. As an avid reader, it was great fun in choosing books she hadn’t read before!
We spoke often in person and on the phone about our love of cats. And her eyes would light up when Dave had a special chocolate treat for her.
Rest easy, Sweet Lady. You will be missed.

We have lost a special person, but are all blessed by having known her either as a teacher or friend. Sometimes as both. She taught my eldest son and was his favourite teacher ever. She and I had many long chats over the years, sharing our passion for history and BOOKS. Eric and I send our sympathy to all of Beryl’s family in the loss of such a lovely lady.

Beryl was a lovely lady. I taught with her for a few years before she retired and I knew just how well-respected she was, not only by the local staff but by her students, too. She was gentle but made herself known in the classroom when it came to control. She was often spoken about as having been someone’s “favorite teacher”. Her passion for history had kept me spell-bound for hours when I would visit her after her retirement She shared a lot of stories with me, many that ended up being written down. Also, we often travelled together to the local retired teachers meetings after I retired. She was always keen to attend. I will miss her dearly.

To Beryl’s remaining family,
I have worked with Beryl and spent many, many times with her talking about the church. We were on the Deacons’ board together and In the Women’s Institute as well as WMS and she was a joy to work beside. We shared lots of chuckles and talked for periods of long time on the phone. I had her up to visit Ruth at one time and I never heard 2 sisters share so many laughs as what they did. It did my heart good to be part of that visit. I have missed her in all the activities for some time but we still had the few moments to chat and share a good chuckle. I offer my sincere condolences to you all and remember all the fun times you had with her. She is with our Lord now and is at peace with Him. May God bless you all as you remember this precious lady. My prayers are with you.
