ARTHUR – Gordon Clyde, 77, of Milton passed away in Queens General Hospital, surrounded by loved ones, on the night of March 17th, 2023.
Born in Milton Gordon was a son of the late Harold and Amy (Mansfield) Arthur.
Gordon loved many things; hunting, fishing, golfing, puzzles, cribbage, and above all, his family and friends. Even in the most challenging of times, regardless of how he was feeling, he never failed to crack a sarcastic joke that brought a smile to everyone’s face. He will be remembered fondly and dearly missed by all of those that had the privilege of knowing him.
Gordon is survived vibrantly by his wife of 55 years Marsha; daughters Meikka Arthur, Lisa (Kirk) Gaetz; grandchildren Olivia Gaetz, Emma Garland and Xavier Mooers; great grandchild Bastien Samuels; brother Roland (Barbara).
Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by sisters Ruth Bedwell and Jane Murphy; brother David.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S.
At Gordon’s request there will be no funeral service. Online condolences may be made to wwwchandlersfuneral.com

Dear Marsha and Family:
We were so saddened to know that dear, sweet Gordie has left this earth. There wasn’t anyone who didn’t love Gordie. When we moved back to Liverpool a number of years ago, and we hadn’t seen Gordie for over 40 years, he ran across the parking lot at Super Store … he picked us up, swung us around, and crushed us with a huge hug. What a special guy he was.
We cannot begin to know the sadness and emptiness you and your family will endure, but we do know the angels gave Gordie a big welcome when he arrived in Heaven …. and he will be waiting for all of you.
With our deepest sympathies,
God Bless,
Dave and Gail Goulden

Dear Marsha and family,
I was so sorry to read that Gordie has passed away! My heart-felt condolences to you and your family.
You (and your family) have suffered a great loss, but you will always carry a bit of Gordie in your hearts.
Treasure the happy memories that you have made with Gordie, during those 55 years that you have been together, and always keep them close to your heart. Share the stories with family members, and don’t be afraid to laugh at some of them.
Gordie would much rather see you remembering him with a smile, that see you get stuck in a prolnged period of greif.
Even though it won’t happen overnight, things will get easier with time, although you will always carry a special love for him and the life that you shared un your heart.
Gordie will never be forgotten by anyone who knew him. He was a friend to all.
My love and prayers are with you during this sad, sad time in your life.

Dear Marsha and Family,
Jill and I are so sorry to hear of our wonderful friend and neighbour’s passing.
When I was in my 20’s before I moved here I commented to an elderly friend how lucky I was to have such good neighbours. He then asked me if I knew that to have good neighbours you simply have to be a good neighbour. Gordie was an awesome neighbour and a very good friend, first to Louise and I, then to Jill and I. He had a great sense of humour and would come out with a joke every time I saw him. I’m going to miss our early morning waves through the windows as he sat at the dining table doing his puzzles and crosswords. Gordie was always quick to lend a hand or to slip over for a little afternoon sip when Marsha was away playing bridge with her friends. We were always careful not to overdo it so he didn’t get in trouble with his boss!
We’re going to miss our common greeting of “howdy de ho neighbour” and always with a big grin. He will be dearly missed by all, especially Jill and I.

Dave and I want to add to the many many friends who have expressed shock and sadness that Gordie will not be seen on the putting greens this summer and no longer seeing his “smile” I was fortunate to meet you and Gordie in Pinegrove not to long ago and his smile was spontaneous and lit up the trail!! There will tough days but as mentioned many times your family and friends will help on your dark days!! Gordie will be missed in body but not in spirit!!
Jill and Bill Rafuse

I am so sorry to hear about Gordie’s passing. He was a great guy. Worked with him on the Paper Machines for years. Was great seeing him outside, too. Fun chatting with him in Pine Grove, and everywhere else. He would greet me with “Gamma”, and it was all fun from there on. A wonderful guy and a quick wit. RIP Gordie.
