Anthony – Douglas Basil; 73, of Mill Village, Queens County passed peacefully in Queens General Hospital on Friday March 1st, 2019.
Born in Liverpool, Doug was a son of the late Eugene and Verna ( Rafuse) Anthony.
Doug worked in the general store in Mill Village for ten years, then spent thirty years as a custodian at the Mill Village Consolidated School until his retirement. Doug also enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening in his earlier years.
Doug is survived by his brother Victor of Mill Village.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside memorial service will be held in the New Charleston Cemetery later this spring. No flowers, donations may be made to the Mill Village and District Fire Department. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com

    Victor I was saddened to read about the passing of Doug. He and I were good friends growing up. . We spent many nights hanging out at the corner in Mill Village and at the Rafuse Home. Doug was always ready for a good time and lots of laughs. He will be missed by all who knew him . Keep your memories close and share them with your friends . It will help get you through the difficult times. . Rest In Peace my Friend.

    Very sorry to see this. I worked with Doug when I first taught in the Village and he was with us when Glenn Heisler and I became administrators at the old Junior High. I liked Doug a lot, he was a good person. My thoughts are with you Victor!!

    So sorry Victor to hear of Doug’s passing, I first meet Doug at the Mill Village school and he was so friendly and wonderful to all the children.     Doug knew 4 generations of my family, and we were all better for it.
    I never once knew him to be without a smile or a kind word, even throughout his long struggle with health issues.
    Like you, your brother was a good man and someone to be looked up to.
    He will be missed by many.

    Vic,I was with heavy heart to read of Doug’s passing. Oh can I ever remember how many times he made me laugh while at Liverpool Regional High school. He always had his lunch box and thermos at break time. Doug took great pride in his hallway floors always had them shining. I guess that was part of him to make everything shine around him.
