The funeral for the late Wilson Whynot which was to be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. from Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 at 2:00 pm
WHYNOT – Frank “Wilson”, 81 of Milton, Queens County passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 30th, 2009 in Queens General Hospital.
Born in Milton he was the son of the late Frank and Katie (Hatt) Whynot.
In Wilson’s younger years, he worked in the woods. He ran his own trucking business, then went to work with the Department of Highways as an operator. He also spent a lot of time with his grandchildren and many hours with his horses.
Wilson is survived by his wife Beulah (Levy), daughter Diane (Aubrey) Coombs, son Brian (Nancy), sisters Betty (Murray) Whynot and Audrey Whynot, all of Milton, 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son Harold and sisters Mary Fox, Nora Huskins and Irene Hanley.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 1st, 2010, from 7:00 until 9:00pm, funeral service will be held Saturday, January 2nd, 2010, at 1:00 pm, both from Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Burial will be in Milton Community Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to the Queens General Hospital Foundation. I will always remember Uncle Wilson taking me along in his big truck when he was hauling from the pit at the end of Old Port Mouton Rd…..we would share our lunches/he always liked the sweets . So sorry to hear of Wilson’s passing. Have fond memories of him taking us kids on rides on the horse wagon as well as chasing his horses through the neighborhood whenever they got past the fence (LOL).
Beulah, Brian, Diane and Families, So sorry to hear of your loss. When I was young, I travelled with my Dad and Wilson on many a Horse Trips. He lived a great life, doing what made him happy. The one thing that always stands out in my mind was the covered wagon trip from Milton to the Caledonia Exhibition.
