Whynot,

Whynot, Barbara Joan, age 75, of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, formerly of Charleston, Queens County, passed away on Sunday, March 8th, 2015, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in East Chester, Lunenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Zelma (Croft) Simpson.

In her younger years Barbara worked for Manulife in Toronto, before moving back home to Nova Scotia to start a family. Once home she spent many years helping take care of her family. She enjoyed volunteering in her community and could often be seen helping out for many community events. Barb loved animals but had a special place in her heart for dogs. She was a hockey fan, especially of the Montreal Canadiens and an avid wrestling fan.

She is survived by her loving son, David (Catherine), of Timberlea.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, St. Clair and a brother Frederick Simpson III.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A  private family service will be held later in the spring. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Lunenburg County Home Support. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.chandlersfuneral.com

I’m sorry to hear of your Moms passing. I met your Mom when you were only small. Seeing her in the last few years was always a time I looked forward to. Your Mom was a strong lady, and loved her son, wife and your doggies 🙂 it was a privilege to know Barb.

Condolence from Leo on March 10th, 2015 4:40 pm

Very sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing.
She was a special lady and I have nothing but fond memories of her. It was fun to watch her help you with your schoolwork through your years at Mill Village.
She often mentioned that as you went on to higher grades in school, you would be on your own as she felt her level of education was limited and wouldn’t be able to “help” you any more 🙂
You were the apple of her eye.
Thinking about you David…take care!

So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I hadn’t seen her in years but she’ll be greatly missed. I was going through old photos recently and saw a pic of when she was young- she was a beauty 🙂 Now she can be with all those who left before her and together they can smile down on all of us. Hugs.
