Richards, Jessica Lynn, 21, of Liverpool, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 31st, 2011.
Born in Liverpool, she was the daughter of Darrell and Michele (Smith) Richards.
Jessica loved to dance, listen to music, playing the piano, swimming and shopping. She loved animals especially her new kitten Azee. She enjoyed sports, playing minor hockey and high school hockey as a goalie from the age of 12 as well as high school softball, Liverpool Ladies’ Softball for four years and mixed lob ball tournaments. She enjoyed playing video games and board games with her brother Justin and friends on weekends. She loved her quiet time; to simply curl up and watch movies. She loved to walk especially with her best friend Rachel; loved to bake especially with her grandmother; loved to drive around on “adventures” and find new and special places and things to photograph. She will be fondly remembered for her infectious laugh and her incredibly beautiful smile.
Surviving besides her parents is her brother Justin. Her paternal grandparents Havelock and Dorothy (Croft) Richards of Sandy Cove and maternal grandfather Sterling (Judith) Smith of Alberta.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother Karen MacNeil.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool where a memorial service will be held Monday, November 7th, 2011, at 3:00 p.m.. Reverend Neil MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Zion United Church Cemetery, Payzant Street, Liverpool. Family flowers only. Although I didn’t know Jessica as well as most, i’m glad for the fact that I was able to know her at all. I will always remember walking or driving by her home and seeing her, her mom and Rachael always sitting out front, she always waved with that beautiful smile of hers. My heart goes out to her family and all the people who knew her best……Jessica, I will always steal a look at your front doorstep everytime I drive by and remember…..xo.

Although I didn’t know Jessica personally, my daughter did, throughout high school and after. From what I’ve been hearing from everyone, I missed out on knowing one of the sweetest young women who would go out of her way to help others. I know there are no words right now that will ease your pain but take heart in knowing many more grieve with you for a young life taken too soon. She will forever be your special guardian angel watching over you. My heart goes out to you at this time.

We both had the pleasure working with Jessica at OLS. I must say if you were having a bad day, when you heard Jessica laugh it made you feel better, and that smile lit up any room, and she went above and beyond to help someone out at work if they needed it. It was a great 10 years on the Ol’ Bristol Ave. Jessica, Rachel & I had so much fun, yet got into so much trouble. I will never forget the sleep overs, make up and dress up. We had so much fun. I will also never forget Jess and I always hounding you to make your homemade french fries all the time. I will remember all of the good times we shared forever in my heart. Naaman loved running into Jessica, he always got a laugh out of her and wouldn’t stop aggravating her until he got one, it never took long and she always had that smile on her face. We will forever drive by your house and look for her shining face, and remember all of the times we shared with her. She is forever in our hearts and will never be forgotten. May her soul rest in peace, and her memories in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers and love are with you all at this very hard time. God has received one of the most beautiful angels and may she dance and shine her light on us all.

Jess and I may have not been the closest over the past few years, But we were inseparable in grade school. We would watch scary movies (13 ghosts & urban legends) over and over again.. we even invented our own board game back in the day, a pokemon version of monopoly. Im sure she still had this, as we spoke of it often. I just loved going to her place after school days, Michele always made us the best hot chocolate with tons of huge marshmellows! We spent countless days at the ball fields together as our parents would be playing ball in the town league.. We would always find something to pass the time, even if it was something stupid. I will truly miss this girl, she is a piece of who I am, and who I always will be. Breathtaking, beautiful girl, who was taken way, way, way before her time. I can only imagine how Rachel and her family are feeling at this time. This will affect the whole town, for a very long time. She will always be remembered as the fun loving, amazing girl she always was… I love ya Jess, give mom a kiss for me <3 xoxox

Dear Darrell, Michelle and Justin….Although I have known you Michele and your parents since we were neighbors growing up on Waterloo Street. I never had the pleasure of knowing your children.
From what I have heard the apple didn`t fall from the tree and your daughter was kind, beautiful and as gracious as the rest of her family.
I cannot begin to know what you are feeling with the loss of your beautiful daughter….but please know that I am greiving along with you , your family and her friends.
Celebrate the 21 years that you had with Jessica and take comfort in knowing she is with her grandmother Karen, Dutchess and all the family and friends that went before her and that at the end of your journey here on earth you will be in her arms again.

I lived by the Richard’s for only a year or more but saw Jessica almost every day. My dad passed away recently and reading these condolences online made me feel even the slightest better in such a sad time in my life. Jessica recently added me to her facebook friend list and looking through her profile I can tell she was beautiful inside and out. My heart goes out to her family and friends. Rest in peace…..you are truly an angel!
