What can I say. You of all know how special your mom was. She made a big impact on so many lives. She always greeted me mornings with “Good morning Kim”. If you only knew how much I am going to miss that and her always happy face. She brought joy to everyone. We can only give thanks that we knew such a beautiful lady inside and out. Her legacy will carry on into 3 wonderful children she raised. She was proud of her family and all the photos tell that tale. To all of June’s family I send my condolences . I too like so many worked with June at Peoples Dept. store along with my Mom Hazel who passed so many years back now. We had so much fun and laughed and loved each other dearly. June was always so kind and gentle ,always with that wonderful smile and kind soft spoken words. I would see her days when on my bike while she lived at Fort Point and she and I sat one beautiful fall day over looking the ocean and talked remembering those wonderful old days. RIP June and give Mom a big hug and Love from me. You will always be remembered for who you were and that would be one of Gods BEST!!
God Bless all those who Loved June and may your memories be special and healing.

Condolence from Edythe Henderson on May 30th, 2013 5:49 pm

For some reason this did not get on the condolence page so I am resending it, sorry if it is duplicated.

I remember the first time I met June. It was the summer of 1956 and with my two girl friends and Paul we arrived in N.S. June was there to met us with Brian in her arms, Wayne was thrilled to met us and Jane would not speak to Paul and went to her room and stayed all afternoon because he had us girls with him. I marvelled at June as she cooked lobsters for a great feast most of the time with Brian on her hip.

Through the years we have enjoyed much the same in clothes and she loved to shop and always was well ‘turned out’ – ALWAYS everything matched, even her lipstick.

We enjoyed having her with us in Port Alberni – she really liked being at our float cabin on Great Central Lake, especially the swimming and sitting by the fire and knitting in the rocker. June remarked that she could easily live up there even though there was the trek to the outdoor back house!

She was an early riser – had her breakfast, turned the coffee pot on and would usually have a 2nd breakfast when we made something. I can still hear her say ‘well maybe a bite’ Paul used to laugh at this as she would eat as much as us!

When Paul and I were scheduled for surgery in the fall of 2008 she stayed to look after us. We took her to our Retirement Christmas party and she had a really good time. When it came time for her to leave in January the usual tears would threaten – my pun was always ‘no tears now June’ and she would give her big smile through her misty eyes and held on tightly.

I will miss her phone calls, visits and beautiful smile (so like Paul’s) – she was so special to me.

Everyone at Port Alberni sends their condolences to the family and friends in Liverpool and remembers June as lots of fun and how she enjoyed being here.

Condolence from Diane and Donald White on June 5th, 2013 5:59 am

We just heard of June’s passing, we too are part of the People’s Store gang that had so many really good times with June and Hazel. They were the Mom’s at work that we sometimes needed to get through life’s trying times during our younger years. Always stopped and talked to June over the years during walks when we’d see her, just know she was adored by us all. Sorry to have missed her service, but we’ll talk to you later June !
