He was president of the Mersey Athletic Association and was a former minor hockey coach. He served as president for the Hunt’s Point Association as well as a trustee for Port Mouton School and Liverpool Junior High School and played in the band “Sandy Road”. Shocked to hear of Rons passing..
He will be greatly missed
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
To Betty Jean, Ron’s Children and the extended Lawson Family;
Ron was a man who gave a great deal back to the world and always tried to make it a better place. I was one of Ron’s “Junior Forest Warden’s”, where he made us proud to wear the Red Shirt with the bright white lanyard. But what was more important, he taught us about converstion of the forest and environment and instilled values in teenagers that would carry on through life. He gave service to his fellow persons. Thank you Ron for all that you did.
We would like to express our condolences and deepest sympathy to the family of Ron.
May the Blessings be

Kelly & Family,
We are both very sorry to have heard this news. Ronnie will be greatly missed in the community. I know he was a inspiration to Jamie in his career with Dept of Natural Resources and really extended himself to help Jamie in his career, and for that we are forever grateful. I can remember in grade 9 we had career day and he was a speaker for Dept of Natural Resources, and I listened to him talk about animals, forest fires, the woods etc…and he was so excited, I remember thinking, I’d like to do that when I grow up…I followed that and went to school and got my diploma in that field and met my husband the ‘forest technician’ as well, so I can honestly say that he played a pretty big role in my future fate….I wished I had have told him that story when I had the chance at all the DNR functions, but I know that Jamie was always forever grateful to him for his help and inspiration…he was a good man, and I’m deeply sorry for your loss.
Kind Regards. Jamie and Laurie-Anne Brown
Betty Jean. You don’t know me,but i’m the one who gave you the picture of the boys drinking coffee,at Tim Horten’s.I also gave them each a bag with some goodies, for every occasion in it,after Halloween,as they said i gave all the kid’s and didn’t give them,so this was the joke i played on them, and the red wrapped chocolate was for the wives.Ron was a great guy from what i knew of him the last years. You and your family will always miss him.It don’t seem right for him to die at such a young age.He was a good family man.May God bless you and your family, and help you through this saddness.

Thinking of all of you at this difficult time. Just talked to Ron a few days ago walking the block. So hard to believe we won’t be seeing him in the neighborhood. He will be missed by many. Our condolences to the family.
At times like this, it’s hard to find the words that best convey the many thoughts of sympathy our hearts would like to say. But may it somehow help to know that though our words are few, we’re thinking of you warmly now and share this loss with you. To the family of Ron Lawson
I was very sorry to read of Ron’s passing.
I have not seen him for many years but remember him as a bright, energetic young man.
It was good to read of his many accomplishments and involvements over the years.
My best to all of his family.
We were stunned to hear from you of the passing of Ron. We are deeply grieved, because we grew to know and love him through a very few short years through his ready helpfulness, his straightforward objective advice when consulted, his simple expressions to us of his fondness for his own family members, and his down to business, but caring, attitude combined with a wry sense of humor when he responded to us and our needs..
.
We are very, very sorry, Berry Jean and family of Ron.

Other than real estate agents Ron was the first person i really met when I came to Queens County 2 1/2 years ago. He became a friend and an easy person to get along with. I saw him and we had a chat a day before he passed away.
My condolenses to his wife and family.
To Betty Jean & Family,
Sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. I worked with Ron at Lands & Forest back in the early 80′s for about six years. I had great respect for him, as he was a good man and a great man to work with. He will be missed by many.
Joe Waltherr
I met Ron in the early 70′s when he was a member of Sandy Road. He made an impression on me as I have never forgotten him. He was such a nice person, even back then when we were still bratty teenagers who knew everything! I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like he made some incredible contributions during his relatively short life.
