McLeod – Sharon Kathleen, 62, of Toronto, Ontario passed away peacefully on October 9, 2011 in Toronto.
Born on April 17, 1949 in Liverpool, she was the daughter of Shirley and the late Clarence MacLeod.
She very much enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as bingo and playing games on her computer.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Dale), Fort McMurray, AB; Patrick (Shana), Toronto, ON; Wendall (Jody Bezanson); Tabitha (Stephen Jollimore); both of Liverpool and Michael (Ruby) Rafuse, Kelowna, BC; sisters Karon, Montreal, QC, Pam (Mike Hupman), Lillian (Vincent) Lowe, Linda (Dennis) Jollimore; all of Liverpool, Pat (Charles) McOnie, Halifax, NS; brothers Arthur, Morris (Ginny), Wayne (Debbie) all of Liverpool, Michael of Dartmouth; grandchildren Morgan, Patrick, Tyler, Robbie, Thor, Hayden, Keira, Matthew and Raven; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her long time companion Sidney Meisner of Toronto.
She was predeceased by a brother Paul, two infant brothers and step-parents Madge and Sandy McLeod.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ward Funeral Home, Toronto. Committal will take place at a later date in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Liverpool. No flowers.

CROFT – Borden H., 61, of Milton, Queens County, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 23rd, 2011 in the Queen Elizabeth Health Science Centre, Halifax.
Born in Liverpool, he was a son of Elsie (Croft) Wamboldt and Douglas Wamboldt of Milton.
He was a retired employee of Bowater Mersey Paper Company working in the wrapping department. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife Carlie (Shupe); daughter Celeste (Jamie) Stevens of Port Medway and son Noel of Liverpool. Grandchildren Zackary, Brendan, Isaac, Kennedy and Bradley. Sisters: Susan (Chris) Whynot and Sally Martin, both of Milton and Bev Roy of Liverpool. Brothers: Frank (Jane) of Milton and Douglas (Valerie) of Brooklyn.

Hazeldine; Ruth

Ruth Hazeldine – 86, of Brighton England, Liverpool and Wolfville NS and Venice Florida, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011. She married her loving husband, Eric, in England in 1946. In 1952 they boarded the Queen Mary with three small children and sailed to a new life in Nova Scotia. They purchased a stately old sea captain’s house in Liverpool and Ruth managed this as a B & B, “Dene Manor”, for 20 years.
While raising 5 children and running a business, Ruth also had time for community involvement. As a member of the South Shore Tourist Association she was instrumental in getting the “named scenic routes” we see today throughout NS. She was a tireless supporter for the mentally and physically challenged and went on to teach special education for 10 years in Liverpool area schools.
During their retirement years, she enjoyed travelling and divided her time between NS, Florida and family. She participated in and led many activities in Kings Gate Club (Florida), always spreading her infectious enthusiasm.
Ruth was the ultimate “people person”, cherished wife, adored mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Her positive energy, generous spirit and love of life touched everyone she met. She was a treasured friend to all.
She is survived by 5 children, Keith (Ethel), Ponhook Lake NS; Carol (Jim) Dewar, Wolfville NS; Sally (Arnie) Chestnut, Wolfe Island ON; Gail (Bill) Moffatt, Truro NS; and Piers (Wendy), Ponhook Lake NS; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by Eric, her adoring husband of 64 years, sisters Violet and Evelyn and brother Stuart.
The joyous celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 17, in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville with Reverend Judith Tod officiating. A reception will follow. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, NS Division or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. The family would like to thank the staff at the Valley Regional Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care that Ruth received.

Wentzell, Grace Marie, 81, of Milton, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10th, 2011, in the Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, after a short illness.
Born on March 5th, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Whitman and Blanche (Wentzell) Martin.
In her younger days Grace loved to have a good game of cards, go bowling, camping and visiting her family in Halifax. People still talk about her homemade bread. In her later years Grace enjoyed flying to Alberta to visit with her grandchildren and great grandchildren
She is survived by her Daughter Gloria (Paul) Whynot, of Milton; their children Gina (Timothy) Stewart, of Middlewood, Monica (Joshua) Taylor, of Beaverlodge, Alberta, Jason Whynot, Justin Whynot, both of Grande Prairie, Alberta; daughter in law Debra Wentzell, of Milton; her children Avis (Jack) Johnson, Peter Smith (Cathy Whalen), both of Milton; six great grandchildren Sarah, Emily, and Spencer Taylor, of Beaverlodge, Alberta, Kale Johnson, Kristen Smith and Emily Swansburg, all of Milton; sisters Lillian Thompson, of Lower Sackville, Rachel MacLeod, of Sandy Cove, Geraldine Labrador, of Liverpool; brothers Clayton, of Bridgewater, Murray (Anne), of Lower Sackville; sister in law Kathleen Wentzell, of Liverpool; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Ray; companion Paul Whynot; son Earl; sister Violet; brothers Rolland and Douglas.

Wentzell, Ronald Nelson, 61, of Beach Meadows, Queens County, passed away on Monday, October 3rd, 2011.
Born in Liverpool, Queens County, he was a son of the late Maurice and Vivian (Gower) Wentzell.
Ron was an electrician by trade and worked around Halifax doing electrical maintenance for many years before going to work at the Halifax Dockyards. He also ran his own business during this time wiring houses. Ron and his family moved back to Liverpool in 1984 when he accepted a job with Nova Scotia Power, where he retired from in 2001. He enjoyed woodworking, camping with his family at the Oakhill Campground and, in his earlier years, golfing. Ron loved animals and was especially fond of his dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dale; daughter Joanne (Jason) Edmunds of Beach Meadows; son Jeffrey (Donalda) of Brooklyn; grandchildren Dylan, Ethan, Darian, Emma; stepgrandchildren Shelby, Tanisha, Marcus, Keilgh; stepgreat-grandson Ashton; brother Arthur (Daunice), of Sackville, N.S..
He was predeceased by a sister Patricia.

COSBY – Lewis Everett, 88, of Liverpool passed away in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Saturday, October 1st, 2011.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Lew served during World War II as a member of the Royal Canadian Navy. Upon his return to Canada he met and married the love of his life, Tess.
Lew worked as a town planner for the city of London, Ontario before moving his family to the Maritimes. Lewis was a real estate agent throughout most of his life, as well as a respected entrepreneur who owned and operated many business enterprises throughout Nova Scotia. Locally, Lew sowed the seeds for what has now become Cosby’s Garden Centre. He was also employed by Bowater Mersey Paper Company as a draftsman for many years.
Lew pursued and excelled in many passions. He was an avid bridge player, gardener and traveler. He enjoyed acting in the Winds of Change as well as restoring old homes and dabbled at inventing. Lew embraced opportunity and thrived on challenges.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 68 years, Tess, sons John (Mary) of Chilliwack, B.C., David Franklin of, Liverpool, Chris (Wayne) of Prospect and daughter Sue (Ivan) Higgins of Liverpool. Grandchildren Aaron, Ryan, Meaghan, Dana, Kyle, Hayley, Angus and Adam and three great-grandchildren.
It is, however the dignity and respect he showed toward all, the unconditional love of his family, his terrific sense of humour and his infectious laugh that will never be forgotten.

BUCHANAN – Gertrude Anne, 75, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Saturday, October 1st, 2011.
Born in Barrington, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Williams) Buchanan.
Gertrude enjoyed her family, especially time with her grandchildren and friends. In her earlier years, she worked as a caregiver in Liverpool and surrounding area.
She is survived by her daughters: Ann (John) Pineo of Liverpool, Nancy (Art) Sweeney of North Brookfield, Bonnie (Gordon) Wong of Liverpool, Christine (Rodney) Knox of Port Joli, Paula Frelick of Hunts Point. Her son John of Liverpool. 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Her sister Rose Mosher of Liverpool and sister-in-law Ann Buchanan of Liverpool.
She was predeceased by sisters Elsie McMahon, Etta Moulton, Agatha “Gay” Walshe. Brothers Lawrence and Willard.

MOUZAR – Mary Aileen, 68, of Hunt’s Point, Queens County, formerly of Liverpool and Halifax died at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Friday, September 30th, 2011 as a result of gall bladder cancer.
Born in Brooklyn, Queens County, she was the younger daughter of the late George and Mabel (Frelick) Henderson.
A former writer/editor for the Halifax Herald Limited, she later designed and wrote knitting pattern instructions for White Buffalo Mills Limited and co-authored three cook books. After retiring to Hunt’s Point, she published Queens County Times, a popular community online source of news and information for 10 years.
She is survived by three brothers: Donald (Rosalyn) Henderson, Howard (Joan) Henderson and Ronald (Bonnie) Henderson, all of Brooklyn. A sister Phyllis (Murray) Smith of Hunt’s Point and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Barry, in 2009.
At Mary’s request, there will be no funeral service. A private family burial will be held in Zion United Church Cemetery, College Street at a later date following cremation. ROY – Morris James, 86, of Southwest Port Mouton, Queens County, passed away suddenly on September 29th, 2011 at home.
Born in Southwest Port Mouton, he was a son of the late Silas James and Mabel Leighton (Williams) Roy.
Morris was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and trapping. He worked well with his hands enjoying carpentry and duck carving.
He is survived by his sister Maxine MacDonald of Halifax and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters Pauline Mustard, Winnifred Callahan, Ethel McLeod, Georgina Roy and Rhoda Huphman and his brothers Sterling, Angus and Charles.
