HEENEY – Pearl M., 93, of North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia, formerly of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24th, 2011 in North Queens Nursing Home.
Born in Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Stella (Whynot) Jollimore.
She was a former employee for Simpsons.
She is survived by her son Thomas (Gladys) of La Pas, MN.
She was predeceased by her husband Thomas George, sisters Eleanor Newell and Barbara O’Leary and brothers Maurice and Douglas.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside memorial service will be Tuesday, May3rd, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Liverpool. LOHNES – Bertha “Betty” L., 78, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28th, 2011 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Short Beach, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter of the late Margaret (Harris) Crosby
Betty was a former employee with R. H, Davidson Stationery and also the Liverpool Flower Shop. She was a member of Pinehurst Rebekah Lodge #95, Liverpool, Ladies Auxiliary of Mersey Branch #38, Royal Canadian Legion, Liverpool and the Fish and Game Association.
She is survived by her daughter Katheryn (James) Dixon, of Stavely, AB. Half Brother William “Bill” Crosby of Lynnwood, WA. Half sister Lorna Crosby of Calgary, AB. One grandson Cory (Jennifer) and two great grandchildren McKenna and Ethan
Betty was also predeceased by her husband Graham “Gay”; an infant daughter Charlotte.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside memorial service was held Sunday, May 1st, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in Liverpool United Baptist Cemetery. ROBERTSON - Laura Lee, 47, of Liverpool, Queens Co, passed away suddenly in Liverpool.
Born in Truro. She was a daughter of Shirley J. (Silmarie) Robertson and the late E.A. “Rob” Robertson.
Laura was an employee with Mersey Seafoods of Liverpool and Bluewave Seafoods of Port Mouton working on the processing line. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, walking and socializing with friends and family especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving besides her mother are her daughter Amanda Jones-Robertson (Trevor Conrad) of Milton and her son Tim of Brooklyn. Grandchildren Dominic, Robbie and Alivia Greer. Brother Terry (Claire) of Raynardton, NS and her nephews Josh and Alex Robertson.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool where a funeral service will be held Monday, May 2nd, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Lay Minister Peter Anthony officiating. Anthony, Irene Frances, 81, of Milton, Queens County, passed away Monday, April 25th, 2011, in the Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel (Kinsman) Jollimore.
She grew up in Mersey Point and moved to Milton when she married Thomas, her husband of 61 years. She held employment positions at Queens General Hospital, Crouse’s Bakery and was head cashier for many years at the Metropolitan Store in Liverpool.
One of her great passions was camping and she and her husband spent many years traveling with their trailer. In later years they moved their trailer to Ponhook Lake and spent most of the spring, summer and autumn months at their site beside the lake. She loved playing games with her camping friends, Mary and Jeanette. The other love of her life was her family. She loved to visit with them and enjoyed good times and laughter.
She is survived by her husband Thomas; daughter Gail (Harry) Gardner; sons Wayne (Suzan), Ronald (Rose); grandchildren Lisa (Jeff), Rebecca (Jonathan), Patricia (Vincent), Adrian (Nicole), Julie (Mike) and Melissa; great grandchildren Holly, Colton, Taya, Elijah, Grace, Kealey, Madison, Ethan and Dakota.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date. Family flowers only. NORMAN – Nellie P., 82, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on February 22, 2004 with her family by her side.
Born in Mill Village, she was a daughter of the late Burton and Irene (Hiltz) Vaughan.
Nellie owned and operated Nellie’s Snack Bar on White Point Road in her early years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing cards with her friends, cooking, watching her regular soap operas, spending time with her family and was very fond of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
At the time of her death, she was survived by her husband Lloyd of Liverpool; daughters Janice (Dean) Aulenback of Liverpool, Dorothy (Dennis) Peach of Aylesford; son George (Sylvia) of Liverpool. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
She was predeceased by her infant son Ronald Frederick and several brothers and sisters.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Nellie and Lloyd will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2011 at 2:00 pm. From Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel with Reverend Judy Cross officiating. Both will be interred together in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Liverpool.

NORMAN – Lloyd G., 89, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton on Saturday, April 16th, 2011 with his family by his side.
Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late William and Maude (Ryer) Norman.
Lloyd was an all round entrepreneur who ran a gravel truck and drove a laundry truck in his younger years during the war. He worked in the woods camps as cook and was an owner-operator of a Texaco Station. He was a fish and meat peddler for a number of years as well as operated Nellie’s Snack Bar on White Point Road as well as Hilltop Dine and Dance. He enjoyed music especially Hank Snow and loved animals especially cats. He enjoyed his family and was very fond of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His favorite saying was “Don’t say goodbye, just say so long”.
He is survived by his daughters Dorothy (Dennis) Peach of Aylesford and Janice Aulenback of Liverpool. His son George (Sylvia) of Liverpool. 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Nellie (Vaughn) an infant son Ronald Frederick, sisters: Mildred, Phyllis, Jessie, Dorothy, Edith, Bernice and brothers: Hallett, Arnold, James, Thomas and Murray.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Liverpool where visitation will be Saturday, April 30th, 2011 from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service officiated by Reverend Judy Cross. MAYO – Thelma M., 69, of East Port l’Herbert, Queens Co., passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Saturday, April 16th, 2011.
Born in Tuft’s Cove, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Edith (Gardner) Himmelman.
Thelma was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed watching television especially “The Price is Right” and “Dancing With The Stars”. One could never leave her home without a hug and a kiss from her. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her family and those who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing her..
She is survived by her daughters: Edith (Harland) Robart, Beatrice Mayo (Aubrey Bryant) and Frances Mayo, all of East Port l’Hebert; her son Larry (Mabel) of East Green Harbour. Her grandchildren Sally (Troy) Wolfe; Lindsey, Charley, Jobe, Alan, Emily and Allan. Great grandchildren Nathan, Dayton and Hayden. Her sisters: Doris (Al) Labour, and Mary (Blandford) Nickerson both of East Port l’Herbert. Cecilia (Alfred) Jones and Rose (Gene) Stewart both of Lockeport. Born in Brooklyn, Queens County, she was the daughter of the late Dana and Doris (Thorbourne) Whynot.
Sharon enjoyed dancing, knitting, bingo, crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and especially her family; her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her daughters: Michelle Clattenburg of Halifax, Jocelyn Jezequel of Toronto and Trina (David) Allen of Shelburne, ON. Her son Dana of Liverpool. Her grandchildren Tamara, Johnathan, Joey, Kain, Laetetia, Dana, Aaron, Jessica, David and Jaimi and her great grandchilren Shawna and Dakota. WAMBOLDT – Gene Wayne, 68, of Yarmouth and Milton passed away suddenly April 4th, 2011 at the QE II, Halifax Infirmary.
Born in Milton on June 8th, 1942, he was a son of the late Alvin and Seattle (Labradour) Wamboldt.
Gene was a very private person who spent many hours at the beaches watching the waves or taking long drives on the back roads enjoying the countryside.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Paulette, daughters Natalie (Lorne) MacDougall of Beach Meadows and Tracy at home. Grandchildren Caylon and Jenna of whom he was so proud. His sisters Arlene (Burton) Greenough of Bridgewater and Katherine (William) Archibald of Owen Sound, ON. Brothers: Lindy (Ellen) and Richard, both of Milton, Alvin Jr. (Pat) of Dartmouth.
He was predeceased by his sister Olive and brothers Virgil, Charlie, Ron, Curry, Robert and Gary.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 7th, 2011 from 7 until 9 p.m. and funeral service will be Friday, April 8th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool.
