Smith, Rosalie Elaine, 81, of Liverpool, formerly of Milton, passed away Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 in Queens Manor, Liverpool.

Born in Milton, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Vera (Wamboldt) Whynot.

Rosalie’s pride and joy was her family and she loved to spend as much time as possible with them. Over the years she worked as a housekeeper for a number of people. Rosalie enjoyed playing cards, bingo and being a part of the Liverpool Seniors group at the Liverpool Lions Hall.

She is survived by daughters Beverly (Paul) Conrad, of Vogler’s Cove, Betty Ann (Ronald) Daury, of Milton, Diane (Glen) Dexter, of Brooklyn, Victoria (Greg) Whynot, of Mersey Point; sons David Whynot, Robert Smith, Thomas Smith, all of Milton; sisters Theresa (Alfred) Brewster, of Brooklyn, Alberta Hyson, of Middlefield, Judy (Roger) Williams, of Allendale; brothers Charles, Eugene (Carolyn), Sydney (Lorna), Jerry, all of Milton; grandchildren Tracy Daniels, Craig (Melanie) Conrad, Jodi (Stanley) Tanner, Nicole Daury (Paul Hallett), Holly Daury (Jamie Nowe), Jennifer Dexter (Nick Skinner), Adam Dexter, Devin Whynot (Melissa Gardner), Nicholas Whynot; great grandchildren Kaelee, Kelcie, Brittany, Shelby, Colby, Stephanie, Katelyn, Nathan, Joshua.

She was predeceased by her husband Reginald; sisters Virginia Miller, Christina Whynot, Diane Daury, two infant twin sisters; brother Lawrence and an infant brother.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., from the Milton Community Cemetery. Merry; James Maynard

MERRY – James M.,  65, of Middlefield, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Friday, July 23, 2010.

             Born in Caledonia, he was a son of the late Mervin and Evangeline (Weare) Merry.

             James worked on the homestead in his early years. He worked for a time with Department of Natural Resources , but spent most of his time working in the woods. He spent the last of his working days at Pettipas Enterprises. He enjoyed exhibitions and family get togethers, but first and foremost, spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Wilson (Kelly Mundorf) of Stettler, AB; his daughters Melissa Merry (Glenn Cunningham) of Maitland Bridge and Rachel (Laurie) Joudrey of Middlefield. His grandchildren Rebecca Rose Mae Cunningham, Cameron Glenn Cunningham,. Venessa Marie Cunningham, Brandon James Cunningham, Abagail Maureen Mae Joudrey, Logan Vincent James Joudrey, and Aiden Joshua Merry.  His sisters: Gail (Paul) Fancy of Westfield, Paulette (Arden) Doak of Fredericton, NB, Sharon Frail of Hibernia and Lynn (Steven Martin) of Bridgewater. His brothers: Leigh (Cathy) and Larry (Valerie), both of Maitland Bridge as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will  be held  Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul’s United Church, Maitland Bridge. Pastor Tom Watson officiating. Hatt; Dorothy Bernice

Hatt, Dorothy Bernice, 83, of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County and formerly of Milton, Queens County, passed away Sunday, July 18th, 2010, at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.

She was a daughter of the late Douglas and Ruth (Freeman) Teal.

Dorothy was born in Port Joli, Queens County and moved to Milton, Queens County at an early age, where she spent her youth. Her hobbies were baking and entertaining as she always had a “pot” on just in case of company arriving. Her family was her pride and joy  and as she always said “I love looking after my children”. Dorothy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star  and was a past Matron of Queens Chapter #34, Liverpool.

She is survived by daughters Deborah (Daniel) Corkum, Pamela (Albert) Walfield, Shelagh Rawding, all of Bridgewater; sons David (Theresa) Rawding, of Hampton, New Brunswick, Daniel (Linda) Rawding, of British Columbia; daughter in law Sharon Rawding, of Bridgewater; sister Beatrice, of Barrie, Ontario; brothers Charles N. (Peg) Teal, of Bridgewater, Ted (Gail), of Toronto, Ontario. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren Jay, Jennifer, Gena, Solomon, Devina, Jackson, Heather, William, Melinda, Jacomina, Sarah, Amanda, Christina, Angela, Samantha and nine great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband William Gerald  Rawding; second husband Horace Haliburton Hatt; son Larry Rawding, sister Deveda; brothers Alfred, Freeman; step brother Gordon Teal.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 20th, from 7-9 p.m., with an Order of the Eastern Star Service at 7:00 p.m., both from Chandlers’ Funeral home, Liverpool. A Funeral will be held Wednesday, July 21st, 2010, at 3:00 p.m., from the Milton Christian Church. Reverend Jennifer Garbin officiating. SUEDERICK – Marie L.,  82, of Queens Manor, Liverpool, formerly of Port Mouton, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor on Monday, July 12th, 2010.

Born in Brussels, Belgium, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Marie (Vermeire) Muelebroeck.

Marie, along with her late husband Ernest, ran a dairy farm for many years. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo as well as wintering in Florida where she made many friends. She was a loving mother and grand mother and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters: Josie Barry of Maitland; Barbara (Greg) Tanner of Blockhouse; Julliene (James) Chandler of Cape Sable Island. Her sons: Richard of Bridgewater and John (Julie) of Lunenburg. 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her Sister Pauline Coudron of Belgium and her brother John (Louise) of Belgium.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernest. And her sister Jaenne.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 from 7 until 9 p.m. and funeral service will be Thursday, July 15th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. Burial will be in Christ Anglican Cemetery, Maitland. Langley; Alice Edith

Langley, Alice Edith -  Our hearts break as we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother , sister and mother in law, Alice Edith Langley, 75 years of Western Head on Sunday, July 11, 2010. She was the anchor of her family, drawing everyone together to the happy home she created for her husband Bill, and her children, Michael, Shawn, Jeffrey, John, Kimberley and Scott.

She leaves behind numerous people who mourn her loss. Her devoted and loving husband of 54 years Bill, her sons, Michael (Donna), Shawn (Mary), Jeff (Teresa), John (Trina), Scott (Tiffany), and her only daughter Kimberley (Dale) Foley, her grandchildren who loved and doted on her – Shawn (Tara), Jacob (Mallory), Zachary, Stephen, Karen, Katie, Mitchel, Makayla, Ian and Ben, her sister Marcella (John) Medicraft, her sister in law Winnifred (Bud) Ross, and brother in law Jack (Faye Barkhouse), who were frequent travel companions to she and Bill before her health declined in the last few years.

Mom was a humble woman who didn’t ask for much but gave you so much in return. She was proud of and lived for her large family and made all family occasions extra special. We were blessed to have her as our mother and wife and she will live forever in our hearts and our memories of the wonderful woman that she was.

Be at peace Mom.

Special thanks to Dr. Ernest and the nursing staff at Queens General for their kindness and excellent care of Mom during the last few years and especially the last few weeks.

There will be no funeral at Mom’s request but if you wish donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Zwicker; Winnifred Jane

ZWICKER – Winnifred J.,  94, of Bridgewater, formerly of Greenfield, Queens County, passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Friday, July 9th, 2010.

 Born in New Elm, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Estella (Baker) Uhlman.

 Winnifred worked as a housekeeper at Freeman House in Greenfield for a number of years and at Hillsview Acres in Middlefield. She was a member of the Greenfield United Baptist Church. She enjoyed the out of doors and working in her gardens She was a fun loving person who was devoted to her family and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter Ruby Ramey of Bridgewater and her son Mervin (Valerie) of Medicine Hat, AB. Grandsons: Dan (Marilyn) Ramey of Bridgewater; Kelly (Jane) Zwicker and Bill (Julie) Zwicker, both of Alberta. Grand daughter Patty (Carlo) Federico, of Alberta. Great grandchildren: Ben Ramey of Bridgewater. Brodie Federico, Sara, Cathy, Lauren and Hailey Zwicker of Alberta. Her sisters: Florence (Rodgers) of Bridgewater, Edith Ball of Woodville; and Lucy Mailman of Greenfield.  Her brothers: Albert (Gwen) of Pleasant River; Martin (Marion) of Westfield and Avery (Pauline) of New Elm.

 She was predeceased by her husband Lester; Son in law Carroll Ramey. Sisters Muriel Getson and Lottie Freeman and her brothers: Wilbert, Wade, William,  George, Robert and Maxwell. Step brothers Fred Baker and Wesley Uhlman and step sister Winnfred Uhlman.

 Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Greenfield United Baptist Church. Dr. Reverend Peter Sherwood officiating. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery, Greenfield. Whynot; Peter Gordon

WHYNOT – Peter Gordon,  52, of Wildcat Mi’kmaw Community died at home on Sunday, July 4th, 2010.

             Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late Allan and Barbara (Francis) Whynot.

             Peter was a carpenter’s assistant for Acadia First Nation. He was also well known as a basket maker, a mechanic, an all round woodsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was known as a “Mr. Fix It”; a “try anything once” type of person even water skiing for the first time at 51. He was a “Ford man” through and through.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years Valerie (Joudry). His sons: Neil (Carrie Ann)  and Nicholas (Laura) both of Wildcat Mi’kmaw  Community . His granddaughter Serenity. His sister Grace (Albert) Conrad of Milton and his brother Byron of Ponhook Reserve.

He was predeceased by his brother Gerald.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A traditional Mi’kmaw service will be held on Friday, July 9th, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Peter’s home.
