Levy, Emma Mildred, of Mersey Point, Queens County, passed away on Thursday, March 11th, 2010 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.

                      Born in Vogler’s Cove, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Elliott and Sedella (Conrad) Mason.

Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and sewing.

She is survived by her husband Harvey; daughters Judy (Arnold) Roy, Janet (Maynard) Mansfield, Barbara (David) Oickle, all of Mersey Point; sons George (Doris), Gordie (Audrey), Carl (Margie), all of Mersey Point, Warren (Sharon), of Brampton, Ontario, Norman (Faye), of Brooklyn, Queens County; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; sisters Ruth MacMillan, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Mary (Maurice) Whynot, of Port Medway, Linda Mason, of Vogler’s Cove.

She was predeceased by a sister, Eva Smith.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 13th, from 2-4 p.m. and a Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 14th, at 2:00 p.m., both from Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. Burial will be in the Zion United Church Cemetery, College Street, Liverpool. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Wagner, Henry Gerald

WAGNER – Henry G., 80, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 9th, 2010, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.

Born in Liverpool, he was the son of the late Ella Jane (Whynot) and Henry James Wagner.

Henry worked with Acadia Construction in Bridgewater for a number of years and worked at Mersey Seafoods for 11 years. Henry enjoyed playing cards and the game of “Trouble” with the girls.

Henry is survived by his wife June Hazel (Freeman), half sister Marion Whynot of Liverpool and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Betty Doucette.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. There will be no service. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.chandlersfuneral.com.

A gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 13th, 2010 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m at the Queens Ground Search and Rescue Hall in Sandy Cove.

Wolfe, Violet Gertrude

WOLFE, Violet Gertrude, 95, of Milton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in Queens Manor, Liverpool.

Born in Chester, Lunenburg Co., N.S., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Althea (Bezanson) Dauphinee.

She lived most of her years in Port Medway where she worked  for the Red Cross and Wight’s Fisheries. She made beautiful quilts and hooked rugs that were sold to people in the States. She loved camping at Hibernia Lake. She enjoyed playing radio bingo, music and planting gardens. She always had a beautiful smile for everyone and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters Freda Nowe and Nora (Arnold) Whynot of Port Medway, Evelene (Raymond) Wolfe of Milton, son Amos (Marie) Wamboldt of West Berlin, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Step-daughter Mona Turner of Ontario, Step-son Clark Wolfe of Frobisher Bay, sisters Leona Bezanson of Chester Basin, Letha Farley of Hillsview Acres, Middlefield and Ellen Wamboldt of Milton.

She was predeceased by her first husband Hasting Wamboldt, her second husband Alexander “Sandy” Wolfe, daughters Eileen Wamboldt and Kathleen Lockwood, Grandsons: Lester Nowe Jr., Wade and Matthew Whynot, granddaughter Ann Marie Lohnes, brother Joseph Dauphinee, half sister Jennie Weagle, half brothers Maurice and Gordon Dauphinee and step son Blanchard Wolfe.

 Visitation will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool,  A graveside funeral service Friday, March 12th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Milton Community Cemetery. Mansfield; LeRoy Elder

MANSFIELD – Leroy E. Jr.,  69, of Caledonia, Queens County, passed away peacefully in North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia.

             Born in Caledonia, he was a son of the late Leroy Sr. and Ruby (Frail) Mansfield.

             Leroy was a machine operator employed with N.F. Douglas Lumber. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his family especially his grandkids. He was known by his family as the “biggest Boston Bruins fan”.

He is survived by his wife Maxine (Croft); sons: Steven (Cheryl) and James (Lori), both of Harmony Mills. Gary (Suanne) of Hibernia, Terry (Tabitha) of Caledonia. Son in law Joseph Callaghan of Westfield. 10 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. Sisters: Joan Brewster of Brooklyn, Sally Corkum of Annapolis, Margaret Kelly and Sharon (Terry) Feener of Blockhouse, Carolyn (Richard) Shupe of NB, Sylvia (Bruce) Fancy of Hibernia. Brothers: Franklyn (Joan)  and Robert (Doreen) both of Harmony Mills. Ronald of Bridgewater and Mitchell of Waterville. Raymond (Annie) of Liverpool. Neal (Laverne) of Westfield, Michael, Douglas (Mary), Roger (Donna), Jerry and Donald, all of Antigonish. Edward of Alberta.

He was predeceased by his daughter Tammy Callaghan, infant granddaughter Myra, Sisters Shirley, Betty and June. Infant brother Terry and brother John.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Caledonia United Baptist Church. BECK – Hilda E.,  90, of Brooklyn, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, on Friday, March 5th, 2010.

             Born in Brooklyn, she was a daughter of the late Eldridge and Nina (Fralic) Jennings.

             Hilda was a former member of  Pilgrim United Church, Brooklyn, the UCW and the Rebekah’s Lodge, Liverpool. She enjoyed gardening and knitting.

She is survived by her daughters: Edith (Bruce) Dauphinee and Patricia (Jack) Chandler, both of Brooklyn. 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Sister Kathleen Mitton of Brooklyn.

She was predeceased by her husband Spencer and sister Thelma.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Peter Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Seaside Cemetery, Brooklyn. Hubley; Frank Wilson

HUBLEY – Frank W.,  85, of Liverpool, Queens County passed away in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010.

                     Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Ray and Dorothy (Joudrey) Hubley.

Frank was a former member of the Royal Canadian Army Corps discharged in 1944 due to medical reasons. He was a former employee for Bowater Mersey Paper Company and worked as a machinist until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Zion United Church in Liverpool as well as the Liverpool Curling Club.

He is survived by his wife of  45 years A. Phyllis (Legge); his stepdaughters Jean Nauss of Bridgewater and Heather Whynot of  Liverpool. Stepson Maynard Hartlen of Port Alberni, BC. 9 step grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law Muriel Hubley of Bridgewater.

He was predeceased by an infant sister and brothers Douglas and Eric.

Funeral service will be held Monday, March 8th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reverend Richard Bristo officiating. Holdright, Lillian Gertrude—96, of Caledonia, Queens Co., passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital on March 4, 2010. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her, she will be fondly remembered and sadly missed. Born in Lake May, she was the daughter of the late Leland  and Laura (Carver) White. She married Hazen Holdright in 1934 and spent her life devoted to her family, first on the farm in Maitland Bridge, later moving to the lakeside home in Caledonia. She is survived by her daughters, Ila Lee (Joe) Baxter, Vancouver; Jocelyn (Larry) Smith, North Brookfield; her sons, Glenford (Freda), Caledonia/Florida; Roger (Linda), Orleans, Ont.; Louis (Joan), Hebbville; sisters, Mildred Fader, New Germany; Erna Stewart, East Port L’Herbert; brother, Lorimer, Annapolis Royal; grandchildren, Heather, Wendy, Jeff, Chris, Janet, Dan, Jason, Jeff, Aaron, Tammy, Krista and Kainan, along with several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Hazen; her son, Seyward; sister, Phyllis; brothers, Wilson, Howard, Ralph and Donald. Visitation will be Sunday, March 7th, 2010 from 7 until 9 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral  Home, Liverpool. Cremation to follow. A graveside memorial service will be Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.  in Maplewood Cemetery, Maitland Bridge with Reverend John Boddy officiating. Family flowers only, donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to Maitland Bridge Community Hall or North Queens Fire Department.
