O’HEARN – Linda M., 54, of Buckfield, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 28th, 2009 after a brief illness with cancer.
Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of Pearle (Lake) Lake and the late Ted Lake.
Linda resided with her husband Gordon in North River for 20 years where she owned and operated Linda’s Home Care in North River for 10 years. She was a former employee with Hillside Manor as a caregiver for 15 years. She retired to Buckfield with Gordon after 30 years of care giving. Linda was a qualified Private Investigator licensed by the Nova Scotia Police Association for 10 years in commercial and retail industry. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Nova Scotia and P.E. I. jurisdiction and served as worthy matron for Pearle Chapter #71, Caledonia as well as Grand Martha of the Grand Chapter of Nova Scotia and P.E.I. for 1 year visiting 43 chapters within the jurisdiction.
Linda was an excellent cook and loved to prepare large meals for her family during the holidays. Linda was loved by all who knew her; her boisterous laugh and a smile you couldn’t forget will be greatly missed.
Surviving besides her mother is her loving husband Gordon; her sisters: Shirley of Calgary and Connie (Harry) Bryson of Bible Hill. Her brothers: Danny and Jimmy, both of Calgary; Ken of Ontario and Wade of Elmsdale.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A memorial service along with a Order of Eastern Star service will be held Saturday, December 12th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Kempt United Baptist Church. Reverend John Boddy officiating. Whynot, Darren James

WHYNOT – Darren James, 36, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital on Friday, November 27th, 2009.
Born in Liverpool, he was a son of Donald and Elaine Patricia (Rhyno) Whynot of Liverpool.
Darren loved to work on cars and building models. He also loved animals. He enjoyed sitting in the parking lot with his “timmies”. Darren thought the world of his nieces and nephews.
Surviving besides his parents are: his sisters: Kim (Timmy) Norwood of Baker’s Settlement and Niki (Derrick) Whynot of Liverpool. His brother Cory of Liverpool. His nieces Abigail and Megan and nephews Nathan and Aidan. Maternal grandmother Helen Rhyno of Milton. Special friends Amanda Zwicker and Peter Robar. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Clarence “Joe” Rhyno, paternal grandparents Doug and Mary (Whynot) Whynot. Aunt Patsy Croft and uncles Richard Croft and Enos Whynot.

WOLFE – Eric Wm. Sr. 61, of Sandy Cove, Queens County, passed away in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Wednesday, November 25th, 2009.
Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late William Everette and Dorothy Pauline (Croft) Wolfe.
Eric was a fisherman all his life, When he wasn’t on the water, he was working in the woods. He loved to paint, hunt and fish. Anything outdoor, Eric loved to do.
Surviving are his wife Ethel (Clattenburg); daughters: Sheri Lynn (Wesley) Doucette of Yarmouth, Tammy MacLean of Saskatchewan Step daughter Tina Marie (Glen) Burgess of Port Medway. Sons:Eric William Jr. of Halifax, Jason Kevin James of Alberta. Step son William Joseph (Tammy) Parnell of New Minas. Grandchildren: Brittany and Emma, Jayden and Maddie. Great granddaughter Chloe. Step grandchildren: Dawson, Gracie and Olivia. Sister Elsie Wentzell of Liverpool.
He was predeceased by his sister Sandra.
Visitation will be Friday, November 27th, 2009 from 7 until 9 p.m. and funeral service will be Saturday, November 28th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Dimmick, Margaret Keith

Dimmick, Margaret Keith, of Milton, passed away on November, 25th, 2009 at the age of 98 at Queens Manor, Liverpool, NS.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Keith) Davey.
Margaret moved to Nova Scotia in 1975 with her husband, Russell Dimmick who passed away in 1993. She was born in Scotland and had lived in Toronto, Illinois, New Jersey, and New Hampshire. Margaret was a RN who was in charge of the premature nursery in New Jersey, head nurse in New Hampshire and ended her 30 plus career as a college nurse. She was a remarkable and highly thought of lady – one who will be sorely missed.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Peggy Airey, of Milton, Nova Scotia and a son, Donald Dimmick and his wife, Anita, of Arvada, Colorado.

Schnare, Laliah “Bud”

Schnare, Laliah ( Bud)- 89, Charleston, Queens County passed away November 22, 2009 in Queens Manor, Liverpool.
Born in New Germany, Bud grew up and lived in Charleston surrounded by her family. Bud was employed at Stedman’s in Liverpool for many years, before retiring to cater to her grandchildren.
Some people might remember Bud from working at the Stedman’s store while others will remember her for entertaining them with her guitar, accordion, or singing. She always enjoyed the company of her friends and entertaining them at the “camp” along the Medway River. She was a woman ahead of her time and lived her life as she wanted, breaking down barriers. She was one of the first women in her community to drive a car, could talk her way out of a speeding ticket, knew how to bait a hook, and was never afraid to speak her mind!! She always welcomed new people in the community and maintained many of these relationships long after they moved. She adored animals, especially her German Shepherd and Newfoundland dogs and often would prepare a feast for them. In her later years, she took care of her husband and continued to live life to the fullest.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Frank, Charleston, Granddaughter Andrea and her husband Brian Grzelewski, Houston, Texas, Granddaughter Krista Schnare, Pictou, Great-Grandsons, Alex and Eli, Daughter in-law Doris Schnare, Bridgewater.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Gordon Schnare, her aunt and best friend Laura Lambert and a grandson, Paul.

Coombs, George Arthur

COOMBS – George A., 60, of Brooklyn, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones by his side.
Born in Liverpool, he was the son of Louisa B. (Dexter) Coombs and the late Gerald F. Coombs.
After his schooling, George joined the R.C.A.F. and was stationed in Chatham, NB and later posted to St. Jean, PQ. Where he trained as an Aero Engine Technician. Studies completed, he returned to Chatham as a corporal. Upon his discharge, he moved to beautiful British Columbia where he worked on sea and land for a few years before being offered position with Vancouver Central City Mission Health Care. He remained there for 30 years retiring in 2007. George loved to travel and returned to Nova Scotia for most vacations. He loved the cottage in Greenfield on beautiful Ponhook Lake enjoying boating and fishing as well as family and friends. He was a member of the Brooklyn Baptist Church.
Surviving besides his mother is his beloved son Richard W.A. of Chilliwack, BC. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 26th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from Brooklyn Baptist Church. HATT – Eva Lillian, 90, of Hills View Acres, Middlefield, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 15th, 2009 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Milton she was a daughter of the late Barney and May Whynot.
Eva was a homemaker and very much enjoyed knitting.
Eva is survived by her daughters Bonita (Ronald) Hatt of Danesville, Regina (Terry) Rhuland of Rhodes Corner, Donna (Phillip) Conrad, of Bridgewater and Maxine (Wilson) Whynot of Danesville, 10 grandchildren and 11 Great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her common law husband James Muise, husband Charles Hatt, son Walter in infancy, grandsons Gary and Jamie Laing, step-son James LeBlanc, sisters Hazel, Bertha, Lena and Ida and brothers Richard, Forman, Freeman, Frank and Kelly.

LOHNES – Lambert M., 72, of East Berlin, Queens County, passed away Friday, November 13th, 2009 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in East Berlin, he was a son of the late Henry and Alice (Whynot) Lohnes.
Lambert worked in the fishing industry all his life. He enjoyed playing the lottery especially scratch tickets and crossword. He was proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by his daughters: Elizabeth Lohnes (Arnold Whynot) of East Berlin, June Lohnes-Davis (Alan Davis) of Summerville. Grandchildren Lucas Davis and Damon Whynot. Sister Violet Rhyno of Charleston. Brothers Robert (Brenda) of West Berlin and Raymond of East Berlin.
He was predeceased by his daughter Joan Selig, sister Lalia Conrad and brother Freeman.

FREEMAN – Lottie O., 97, of North Queens Nursing Home, formerly of Greenfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5th, 2009.
Born in New Elm, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Estella (Baker) Uhlman.
She was a member of the Greenfield United Baptist Church and was very active in other organizations in Greenfield as well as North Queens Nursing Home.
She is survived by daughter Gertrude; 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild, Sisters: Winnifred, Edith, Lucy and Florence. Brothers; Albert, Martin and Avery.
She was predeceased by husband Avery, infant granddaughter, sister Muriel, brothers: William, Robert, George, Wilbert, Maxwell, Wade. Half sister Winnie, half brother Wesley .

CONRAD – Marion B., 92, of Brooklyn, Queens County passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009.
Born in Ingramport, she was a daughter of the late John and Nettie (Snair) Benvie.
Marion was very family orientated and loved being surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Adrian to whom she was married to for 70 years, daughter Dolly Freeman of Greenfield, Sons Moyal (Jeanne) of Greenfield and Adrian Jr. (Christine) of Brooklyn. Grandchildren: Moyal Jr. (Suzette) Conrad of Greenfield, Peter (Michelle) Freeman of Bridgewater, Crystal (Chris) Hagen of Greenfield, Sandra (Joe) Dube of Brooklyn.
